Obituary: Romeo A. Demers, 85, formerly of Manchester, died 24, 2001, at the Meadowview Life in Lakeland, FL., after a lengthy illness. Born in Suncook, 13, 1916, he was the son of Antonio and Eveline (Belcourt) Demers. He lived most of his life in Manchester and had been a resident of Lakeland, FL. since 1992. He worked at Ferrettis Market for many years. Mr. Demers was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a lifetime member and past president of the Alpine Club. He was also a former president of the Regional Snowshoers Union as well as the International Snowshoers Union. In addition he was a member of the American Legion, Jutras Post, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was married to Antoinette Toni(Pellissier) Demers, who died in 1990. In addition he was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Fortin. Family members include 2 sons, Richard R. Demers of Clinton Township, Michigan, and Mark D. Demers Sr., of Lakeland, FL; a daughter, Lucille Baker of St. Petersburg, FL; 23 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated , 29th, at St. George Church, Manchester. Burial was in Mount Calvary .

Obituary: Roland P. Demers, 92, died on , 4, 2014 at the Community Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Gorham, NH and was the son of Hector and Laura (Pellissier) Demers. He had resided in Manchester for most of his life. He was educated in local schools and later entered the US Army to serve in the South Pacific, the Korean War, and later received the Bronze Star. He served over 20 years in the Army, and then worked for the State of NH Employment Security Division for 20 years. Roland enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an avid skier and golfer and a member of the Derryfield Country Club. Members of his family include his beloved wife of 68 years, Mary Inez (Holmes) Demers of Manchester; a daughter, Patricia Peck and her husband Dr. Charles of Annandale, VA.; two sons, Robert Demers and his wife Linda of Arlington, VA, Richard Demers and his wife Karen of North Wales, PA; two grandson, Benjamin and James Demers; two brothers Gerard Demers and his wife Lorraine of Manchester, Rev Francis Demers, OMI, of Tewksbury, MA.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was born in Nashua, NH on 7, 1930, the daughter of Willie William and Aurore (Beauchamp) Doyon. She was educated in the Manchester parochial school system and was a graduate of St. Anthony High School. She had been a Manchester resident for most of her life prior to moving to Hooksett four years ago. Prior to retirement, she had been employed by the Manchester Police Department for many years. Since retirement, Rita was active at the Manchester Senior and volunteered delivering for Catholic Charities Meals On Wheels program. She loved to travel and was also a member of the Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary. Members of her family include her husband of 56 years, Raymond E. Demers of Hooksett; one son, Marc R. Demers of Hooksett; one sister, Lillian Duval of Manchester; four nieces, Denise Southmayd, Joyce Franco, Patricia Bailey, and Karen Gross; great nephews and nieces. Obituary: Richard P. Demers, 65, of Manchester, died 26, 2002, at Brigham & Womens Hospital in Boston, due to complications from leukemia. Born in Taunton, MA, 18, 1936, he was the son of Hector and Yvette (Yelle) Demers. He had been a Manchester resident since 1977. He attended Coyle High School where he graduated in 1954. He attended Saint Johns Seminary in Brighton, MA, receiving undergraduate and graduate degrees. P>Richard was ordained a Catholic Priest in 1962. He served at St. Michaels Parish, Ocean Grove, MA from 1962 to 1967. He served as a Navy Chaplain in Vietnam where he was assigned first to a Mash Unit and then to the Fifth Marines. While in Vietnam Richard received the Navys Bronze Star Metal for Meritorious service. Richard was released from his vows as a priest in 1970 and married Sarah Bible of Morristown, Tennessee. receiving his MBA from the University of Chicago in 1976, he, his wife, and two children spent two years in Ghana, West Africa helping local populations to organize small-scale sugar cane factories. Richard took a leadership role in the Manchester Community, serving at various times on the boards of point Bank, The Chamber, Palace Theater, CMC and Energy North. He was a member of the Air Resources Council, Gas Managers Guild and was active in Rotary. his retirement From Energy North in 1999, he spent his time traveling and leading tours throughout Asia. Family members include his wife, Sarah B. Demers of Manchester; 2 sons, Christopher P. Demers of Chicago, Ill, and Justin A. Demers of Arlington, VA; 2 grandchildren; his mother of Taunton, MA; a brother, Robert Demers of Falmouth, MA; 2 sisters, Irene Lamson of Northhampton, MA, and Lucille Reilly of Marietta, GA; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Pauline McGrath and by his Father, Hector Demers. Born in Manchester, 1, 1913, she was the daughter of Joseph and Delvina (Dion) Marcoux. She was a lifelong resident of this city. Mrs. Demers worked as a waitress for many years. She had worked at the Holiday Inn, Queen City Motel, Carpenter Hotel, Manchester Country Club and the Derryfield Country Club, and other area banquet facilities. She had volunteered as a Civil Defense Warden during World War II. In addition she volunteered with the American Red Cross, Notre Dame Hospital Associates, and as a driver for the Sisters of Holy Cross. She was a past president of the Club Jeanne dArc womens auxiliary of the Alpine Club, and a member of the Manchester Brownies. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony Church, and a member of the Sodality of St. Anne of that parish. In the 1930s, she was a Womans World Champion Snowshoer in competition held in Montreal, Quebec. Family members include her husband of 64 years, Andre G. Demers of Manchester; two sons, Maurice A. Demers of Goffstown, and Denis G. Demers of Bohemia, NY; three grandchildren; a brother, Romain Marcoux of Manchester; several nieces and nephews. Obituary: Lorraine M. Demers, 89, of Manchester, died 19, 2009, at the Courville in Manchester. She was born in Manchester, 27, 1919, and was the daughter of Louis and Antala(St. Germain) Parenteau. She was a communicant of St. Marie Parish. Lorraine spent most of her time with the care and concerns of her children. She also worked at Raytheon for ten years. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Family members include a daughter; Pauline Jutras, of Warwick RI; 2 sons, Robert Demers, of Gilford, Richard Demers, of Laconia; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Walter Parenteau, of Hampton; 1 sister Eva Duval, of Manchester; several nieces, nephews; Lorraine was predeceased by her husband Lucien in 1997. A funeral Mass of Christian burial was celebrated , 25, 2009 at St. Marie Church, Notre Dame Ave. Manchester. Burial followed at Mt. Calvary , Goffstown Rd. Manchester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her name to the Sisters of the Precious Blood Monastery, 700 Bridge St. Manchester, 03104.
