Obituary: BRUNSWICK - William A. Dunton Sr., age 81, of Post Office Rd. in Westport Island, ME died afternoon 22nd at Midcoast Hospital in Brunswick with family at his side. He was born in Lewiston 2, 1934 a son of James H. and Vira (Jones) Dunton. He grew up in Lisbon Falls and graduated from Lisbon High School in 1952. On 20, 1959 Bill married the former Helen Piela at Holy Family Church in Lisbon Falls. resided for a number of years in Lisbon Falls and have been living in Westport Island for the past 30 years. Bill worked 39 years at Bath Iron Works, spending the last several years as a shipfitter until retirement. Among his favorite enjoyments were cutting and working with wood, fixing cars and reading and learning about WW II history. He and Helen also enjoyed spending many Summers at their camp on Westport Island. Bill was a loving, devoted and hardworking husband, father and grandfather who be dearly missed. He leaves behind his wife Helen Dunton of Westport Island, three sons Bill Dunton Jr. of Lisbon Falls, Jim Dunton of Westport Island and Tim Dunton and wife Wanda of Jefferson, ME and one grandson Bill Dunton III of Lisbon Falls. Mr. Dunton was predeceased by his parents. At his prior request, there is no visitation or funeral. Interment will take place in the family lot at Hillside at a later date. Obituary: Marjorie E. Dunton, 96 Yarmouth - Marjorie Edith Dunton of Cumberland died peacefully afternoon, on 5, 2011 at 3:10 pm at The Brentwood Rehab and Long Term , Yarmouth, with her friends at her side holding her hand and giving her loving comfort for a better future for all of us. In her final moments, she had her loving son and daughter at her side. She was not alone. She was born on 10, 1914 in Hampden, Maine, the daughter of Charles and Mabel Thayer. She grew up in Hampden, went to Beal Business and later met her husband to be, Arthur Dunton. were engaged for three years as he worked in the engine room of a private yacht called The Viking and sailed around the world, visiting places like Chile and Hawaii. Marjorie kept a picture of him under her pillow during that time. She would receive many letters from him. usually started out with the phrase, sick again! She was married on 3, 1939 in her mother and aunts home. Her father, Charles, passed away when she was nine in 1924. Marjorie was the youngest of five children, Josephine, Montford, Avis & Gordon; affectionately named Aunt Jo, Uncle Monty and Aunt A. Gordon died at a very young age. lived in Bucksport and then moved to Orland. There they spent many summers at Toddy Pond in Surry, below Ellsworth. You could see Blue Hill from the lake. Her husband worked at Central Maine Power in Bucksport. Later the family moved to Cumberland in 1957 through a job transfer as the head watch engineer at Cousins Island CMP, in Yarmouth. The idyllic camp lot remains in the family where we would travel a lot further to be there. Her sister, Avis, had a camp beside the lot where we stayed. Marjorie would swim out to the rock with her daughter, , when she was 78. That was to be the last time Marjorie would swim there. She would say that her sisters were too modest to put on a swimsuit. She loved to garden, planting sweet peas, bachelor buttons, zinnias and cosmos. She enjoyed baking toll house and oatmeal cookies and could stuff a mean trout. She had a terrific sense of humor and loved animals. She used to say that you are never alone as long as you had a pussy cat. Marjorie and her dear friends Florence, Anna, Evelyn and Laura would visit other friends in nursing homes whose lives were cut short. their passing, they would continue to visit and encourage others who were residents there, as they got to know many others. Marjorie recently received a little award of recognition with her friend, Anna. Most of all, she loved to give hope to people for a better tomorrow, remembering things that her Dad told her from the Bible. At that time in the 1920s, a group of people were known as International Bible Students. He would attend weekly private studies. Not forgetting what she had learned, Marjorie Dunton, was baptized in New York City at an International Convention in 1958 as one of Jehovahs Witnesses. She was a member of the North Yarmouth Congregation of Witnesses, sharing the hope of a new earthly society as it was originally meant to be back in the Garden of Eden. She learned that the worlds worsening conditions were a major sign that events were about to change. Marjorie will be intensely missed and remembered. She was predeceased by her husband in 1987, her sisters, her brother and all of her oldest friends. She said, I want to live to be 92, anyway. She is survived by her daughter Anne in Limestone, son Richard in New Gloucester, and a daughter, , in Cumberland . A grandson, Glen Scott Allen in Utah, another grandson Richard and his wife Jacqueline in Illinois, a granddaughter Katrina and her husband Kevin, also in Illinois. Two great-grandsons in Tennessee, Keith and his wife Heather, and Casey. Richard and Dunton would like to thank the doctors, nurses and aides at Brentwood and at Maine Medical before she went back to Brentwood at the very end. You all gave thoughtful and attentive care and compassion. The hospice team from Beacon gave fabulous comfort, as well, when it was so needed. And they still are. A memorial service will be held for Marjorie on 13, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witness, 16 Town Farm Road, North Yarmouth, ME. Burial will be in the spring at Blanchard , 215 Winn Road, Falmouth, ME. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Beacon Hospice, Inc. in Marjories memory. Obituary: Windham - Dorothea Agnes Dunton, 92, passed away peacefully on 21st due to complications with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Portland, Maine on 29, 1923. graduating in 1942 from Scarborough High School, she married William Burnell. While he was serving in the army, she traveled with him working in several defense plants supporting the war effort. In 1945 she returned home to give birth to their daughter. Shortly after they divorced and she met and married Wayne Dunton. lived in Portland and Westbrook where they raised their two sons and her daughter. She and Wayne enjoyed country music, woodworking, crafts, camping and spending time with family and friends. Their home was always busy with friends and family joining in on crafting, sewing, quilting and baking. happily welcomed all. In addition to working 28 years for SD Warren, she started her own successful specialty cake business - including wedding cakes. Dorothea was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Dorothea was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years of marriage, Wayne Dunton. She is survived by her daughter, Cecilia Ann Sturgeon and husband Edward; her sons, Wayne Dunton Jr. and wife Jane, Laurence Dunton and wife Beverly. She was Grammy to 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to attend a time of visitation from 4:00 - 7:00 pm , 27, 2016 at Jones, Rich and Hutchins 199 Woodford St. in Portland Maine. A funeral service will be held at 11 am in the funeral home with a reception to follow. Interment will be at Brooklawn Memorial Park.
