Obituary: Jacob Kylee Dodd passed away 15th, 2016 surrounded by loved ones. Jake was born 14th, 1986 in Searcy, Arkansas. His love and sense of humor will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was a naturally gifted and accomplished musician as well as an integral member of the Bald Knob High School marching, symphonic, and jazz bands. Jake mastered multiple instruments with ease, including alto and baritone saxophones, guitar, and Sousaphone. He was selected to play saxophone in All-Region band on several occasions and shared his talent with other musicians in the Mid-South Honor Band. Jake was an avid fisherman and loved to camp and spend time with his children, family, and friends. Jake had a buoyant, easygoing personality and was a friend to all who met him. He was an employee of Loves in Searcy at the time of his passing. Left to cherish his memory are his fiancée, Kimberly Lowrey and her children Abby and Wes, his own two sons Ayden Lee Dodd and Jacob Tylan Dodd along with their mother Mildred Azalea Carthorne, his father and stepmother William and Debbie Dodd, his mother Kristen Dodd, his sister Allyn Dodd and nephew River Fuell, his brother Kyler Dodd, grandmother Zela Klotz, aunt and uncle Lela and Bill ONeill, close cousins Clarissa, Sean, Tristyn, and Karley Mahanay, Katherine Hurd, and Nicholas Cooper, as well as many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his devoted grandparents, Henry Klotz Jr. and Ruth Dodd. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 3:00 pm at Powell with funeral services to follow at 3:00 pm at Powell Chapel. A memorial headstone will be installed at Shady Grove . Jake wished to be cremated, and his ashes will be laid to rest at Sylamore Creek in Fifty Six, AR, his favorite childhood stomping grounds. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked memorials be made to the Jacob Dodd Memorial Fund at First Security Bank. |

Obituary: Reverend J. Kenneth Dodd of Fort Smith passed away , 26, 2010 in Fort Smith at St. Edwards Mercy Hospice. He was born 18, 1946 in Fort Smith to the late Ivanelle and Nathan Dodd. He was a 1964 graduate of Northside High School in Fort Smith. He was a 1968 graduate of Hendrix in Conway with a BA in History and Political Science. He was a 1972 graduate of Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity where he specialized in communications, producing programs for churches and educational tools for Dr. Frederick Norwood in his Methodist history classes at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. He was an ordained Elder in the North Arkansas Conference in 1981 and served United Methodist Churches in Arkansas at Hickory Plains, Texarkana, Pine Bluff, Fayetteville, and Jonesboro. The family will visit with friends at Goddard United Methodist Church in Fort Smith beginning at 11:30 AM , 6, 2010, followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 PM. He is survived by his former wife Reverend Marcia R. Carter Dodd of Austin, Texas, his son K. Carter Dodd and his partner Jordan VanNess of Austin, Texas, his brother Leland and his wife Sherry of Texarkana, Texas. She was born in Hamburg, AR, on 9, 1932 to her parents, Herman Calvin and Pearl Emory Pamplin. Mrs. Dodd retired as a quality inspector after 29 years of service with Georgia-Pacific. She was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting and spending time with family and friends. Most importantly, she enjoyed every moment she had with her great-grandchildren. Mrs. Dodd was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roland J. Dodd; a daughter, Elva Jean Martin; a son, Larry L. Parks; a granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth Dodd and a great-grandson, William John Dodd-Ross. She is survived by sons, Frank L. Dodd (Pat), Daniel C. Dodd (Judy), all of Crossett, AR, Terry L. Dodd (Carmen) of Cowden, IL, Jerry R. Dodd (Betty) of Katy, TX; daughter, Sandra G.
