Obituary: Sulphur- Gerald Doucet, 64, passed away , 30, 2014, in a local hospital. Gerald was born in Crowley, LA to the late Mr. & Mrs. Walter F. (Regina) Doucet Sr. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He retired from Conoco-Venco as an operator. He was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and of the American Legion. He enjoyed gardening and working puzzles. He was a very patient man who loved life and his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Deanna Doucet; two sons, Scottie Doucet and wife, Kristi and Donavan Doucet and wife, Marcia; one brother, Walter Lee Doucet and wife, Barbara; one (twin) sister, Geraldine Guidry and husband, James; five granddaughters, Kaytlin, Allee, Adah, Scotti Clare, and Shaylee Doucet; and one grandson, Taylor Doucet all of Sulphur. He is preceded in death by his parents and a half-brother, Walter F. Doucet Jr. A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30am , 2, in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Rev. D.B. Thompson will officiate. Visitation is from 3-9 , 1, with a rosary at 6:30pm, and will resume 8am until service time , in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial . Burial will be in Mimosa Pines-South of Carlyss. Obituary: Elda LDa Collins Doucet, 85, a native and resident of Lafourche Parish passed away 24, 2015. Visitation will take place on 29, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 8:00 am till service time. A memorial service will begin at 10:00. Mrs. Elda is survived by her children Shannon Butch Doucet (Linda), Patricia Pat Doucet, Marilyn Stanley (Russell), and Rodney John Doucet (Jan), grandchildren Shannon Jr., Jordy, Lesley, Tyson, Tisa, Dallas, Wes Lee, and Joseph, 17 great grandchildren, brother Englove Brother Collins, and sisters Eleanor C. Curol and Dorothy C. Wiseman. Mrs. Doucet was preceded in death by her first husband Wesley Jean Doucet, second husband Kilren Autin, and third husband Lester Boutte, parents Braglon B.J. Collins and Lydia Lombas Collins, brother Casey Roy Collins, sisters Priscilla C. Leonard and Polly C. Braud, and adopted brother Whitney Lombas Sr. Mrs. Elda was an elementary school teacher for 42 years, 32 with Lafourche Parish and 10 with St. Peters Catholic Church School in Gueydan. She was the author of the elementary childrens book The Little Cajun who became a Guardian Angel, a State President of the American Legion Womens Auxiliary, member of the makers of Lydia, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary Mgsr. Carroll Badeaux Council and enjoyed singing songs to inspire her family and friends. Mrs. Doucet selflessly donated her body to science to assist the future of medical research to help others. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to either Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Masses for Mr. Wesley and Mrs. Elda or to a charity of your choice in her name.
