Obituary: Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Celeste Tessie Monique Desormeaux - Beloved daughter, sister, cousin, aunt and friend, passed into the arms of the Lord on 11, 2017 at her home in Gonzales, La. Celeste was born in New Iberia, La. on 1, 1976 to Ronnie and Monica Desormeaux. She loved the Lord, her family and friends, and especially adored her nieces and nephews. She was an accomplished equestrian and spent many evenings at the barn looking after her prized horses. She was raised worshiping the Lord and in this last year became a member of The Church in St. Amant where she took comfort in the Word of God. graduating High School in 1994 from Bethany Christian School in Baker, La., she began working for her father who owned a local Allstate Insurance firm for many years. At the time of her passing she was an agent at Go Auto Insurance in Gonzales. Tessie - to those closest to her - was a kind, sweet spirit. She was precious in so many ways, found immense joy in doing for others and was a light to this world. All who knew her were blessed by her authenticity, empathy and candor. Her presence may no longer grace us, but now she is free. And for that we rejoice. She is forever at peace with both her loving Savior and her late mother whom she missed dearly. Celeste was preceded in death by her beloved mother Monica Desormeaux in 2009, maternal grandparents Francis Arceneaux and Margie Arceneaux and her paternal grandparents James and Ruth Desormeaux. She is survived by her loving father Ronnie Desormeaux and his wife Norma Walker Desormeaux; her elder brother Eric Desormeaux and his wife Anna Polozola Desormeaux, and their children Alaina, Gillian, Alisha, Connor, Jason and their grandson Micah; her younger brother Jason Desormeaux and his daughter Emma; her step-sister Laura Taylor Hawkins and her husband Zeb, their children Kynlee and Slade; her step-brother Stuart Taylor and his wife Jessica Gary Taylor, their children Reece, Audrey and Anna Leigh. She will be missed by her many aunts and uncles, numerous cousins, along with her dearest friends and her chihuahua Piper. Services will be held at Ourso in Gonzales 17th from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM. She will be laid to rest at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Baton Rouge. |

Obituary: NEW IBERIA- A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline of New Iberia on , 26, 2015, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm for Mrs. George Deslatte Sr., the former Ethel Mire, age 76, who passed away , 20, 2015. Private interment services will be held at a later date. A native of Mire and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Deslatte passed away at 11:00 pm on , 20, 2015 at Iberia Medical surrounded by her loving family. Ethel Mire Deslatte was born 22, 1938, to Edwin and Ella Broussard Mire and was one of five children. She enjoyed spending her time cooking, baking, gardening, and playing cards with family and friends. Mrs. Deslatte enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and had a special love for her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all those she knew and loved. Survivors include her four sons Bryan Deslatte and wife, Kathleen, of Alvin, Texas, George Deslatte Jr. and wife, Sharon, of New Iberia, Roddy Deslatte and companion Lesia Touchet of St. Amant and Mark Deslatte and wife, Yvette, of Broussard; siblings, Peter Mire, Clifford Mire, and Venola Vanderventer; 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and her beloved pets BJ (a parrot) and Sugar (a cockatoo). She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, George Deslatte, Sr.; sister, Marge Mire Ramsey; and parents, Edwin and Ella Broussard Mire.
