Obituary: services celebrating the life of Beula Mae Fontenot Deshotel will be held , 21, 2015, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Bayou Vista during a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian burial. She will be laid to rest in Iberts Memorial Park in Patterson. Father William Rogalla will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Iberts Mortuary in Patterson on , Nov. 20, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume at Iberts at 9:00 AM until time of dismissal at 12:30 PM. Serving as pallbearers will be Blake Romero, Brett Romero, Nicholas Provost, Noah Provost, Todd Fontenot, Chad Fontenot, and Morgan Jo Romero. Beula was born in Duralde, LA on 24, 1934, the only child of the late Antile and Lelma Fontenot. She was a 50 year resident of Bayou Vista, where she passed away at the age of 81on , 18, 2015, at her home. Survivors include three daughters, Janice D. Gary and her husband Clebert, Marilyn Sue Pate and her husband Mike, and Phyllis Deshotel; two grandsons, Blake Romero and his wife Jennifer and Nicholas Provost and his fiancée Gracie Billiot; and four great grandchildren, Morgan Jo Romero, Brett Romero, Noah Provost, and Avyn Haggard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen B. Deshotel. Beloved husband of rine Tweet Goff DesForges since 1951. Father of John L. DesForges (Sheila), Ted F. DesForges, Mary D. Gee (Charles), Elizabeth D. Perrin, and Stephen T. DesForges (Stephanie). Grandfather of John Ross, Emily, and Sophie DesForges, Jonathan, Benjamin, A.J., and Sarah Begault, Daisy Perrin, and Step-Grandfather to Patrick Beatty. Son of the late Octave F. DesForges and Vivian Wilken DesForges. Born and raised in New Orleans and a resident of Metairie, LA since 1964. He was an active parishoner and Eucharistic Minister at St. Francis Xavier parish and a long time retreatant at Manressa House of Retreats. completing his education at Tulane University, he designed ships for the Higgins Boat during WWII, then excelled in local radio and movie theater management for many years, and in later years retired from Boudreauxs Jewelers.
