Obituary: Shreveport, LA- services celebrating the life of Roy B. Delaney, 88, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on , 18, 2015 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial . Officiating will be Dr. Murry Hodge with masonic rites following. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on , 17, 2015 at Centuries Memorial . Roy was born on 8, 1927 in Shreveport, LA and was educated at Alexandria Elementary and St. Johns Military Academy. Roy was a World War II veteran, he joined the Navy on 8, 1945, and served on the Battleship U.S.S. Texas, and Destroyer, U.S.S. McKean. Roy was former owner of Gordon-Robinson Food Brokerage. Roy was a former member of Morningside Baptist Church where he served as deacon and on many committees for 42 years. He was currently a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church where he served as usher, school director and volunteer construction crew member. Roy became a mason in 1953 and was raised in W.H. Booth Lodge #380 in 1954. He served as Worshipful Master of W.H. Booth Lodge in 1961 and Grand Master of Masons of Louisiana in 1992. He was a plural member of Blanchard Lodge #447. He was a member of Shreveport Scottish Rite, KCCH, 33rd degree. He was also a member of York Rites and was Potentate of El Karubah Shrine in 1981. In addition to his lifes work in Masonry, he was also the founder of the Blue Lodges Shreveport-Bossier Dyslexia Training Program in 1999 and for whom the Bossier School is named after by the Past Grand Master, Jeff Webb, 2009. Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Rosa Delaney, brother Maynard Delaney and sisters Rose, Mamie, Sadie and Mary. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Bennie House Delaney, daughter and son-in-law, Kerry and Gerald Weakley, granddaughters, Kristen and Kimberly and grandson, Adam, sisters Jo Neal, Margaret Peters, Dorothy Wiginton, Betty Hughes, and numerous nieces and nephews. Roy was a worthy workman of good cheer, one of good report among the brethren who would stand next to any upright mason. He was dignified, having served in high places. Roy never faltered, faulted, or fought. He just wouldn quit the task at hand! Honoring Roy as pallbearers will be Steve Pence, Gary Gribble, Gary Rushworth, John Autry, Ballard Smith and Bruce Easterly. Honorary pallbearers will be members of W.H. Booth Lodge #380, El Karubah Shriners, and Scottish and York Rite members. Obituary: Rita Anna Campisi Delaney passed away peacefully on , 17, 2017 at the age of 90. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had touched in some way throughout her very generous and memorable life. She was the cherished wife of 46 years to the late John Delaney Jr. Loving mother of Donald Patrick Delaney (Dianne), Linda Ann Delaney, Glenn Michael Delaney (Patti) and Michael John Delaney (Susanne). Daughter of the late Joseph and Hazel Dolin Campisi. Sister of Geraldine “Gerry” Campisi Heier and Joseph “Buddy” Campisi. Proud grandmother of Angela Delaney Cates (Timmy), Andrea Leigh Delaney, Jonah Michael Delaney, Alex Martin and Cara Martin. Great grandmother of Kaitlyn Anna Kinney, Nicholas John Kinney and Matthew Cates. She is also survived and fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Rita was born in New Orleans, LA and was a resident of St. Bernard Parish and Meridian, MS. She was known to many as “Mee Mee”, and her beloved John “Paw Paw”. enjoyed hosting a Christmas Eve party beginning in 1965 after moving to Meridian, MS. As the hundreds that attended over the years remember, Santa made a grand appearance along a path lit by railroad flares to the delight of youngsters and the older “tots” as well. 2015 was her 50th celebration of the event, and final hosting. Her New Orleans style of cooking was a hit with both family and Meridianites, and she always had enough for friends that happened to stop by. She was well loved and affectionately known for her good nature and generous heart as a faithful donor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Her faith, love and laughter will be deeply missed by us all. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on , 21st from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a Mass in Rita’s memory beginning at 1:00PM. She will be laid to rest in St. Louis No. 3 in New Orleans. |

Obituary: Lavonna Marie Delaney was born on 6, 1941 and peacefully left this life on 21, 2011. She was born and lived in Hayes, LA until she met, and at the age of 15, married her husband of 55 years, Harold Delaney. Together they made their home and raised their family in Grand Lake, LA. retiring from Lakeside National Bank, Lavonna worked as a dedicated caregiver for the elderly in her community. Always fun-loving, she loved dancing to Elvis and Zydeco music. Some of her favorite pastimes were embroidery, arts and crafts, recipe collecting and shopping. Her children and grandchildren have fond memories of her favorite Easter tradition "pocking eggs" and her elaborate dress-up tea parties. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Delaney; parents, Allee and Norma Sonnier and two sisters, Virginia Anderson and Maedelle Reddin. She is survived by her daughters, Vicky Shackelford of Lake Charles, Carol Savoy of Grand Lake, Donna Perkins and husband, Randy of Moss Bluff; brother, Joe Sonnier of Orange, TX; sisters, Anita Midkiff of Lake Charles and Wilma Dufford of Orlando, FL; as well as 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Obituary: Karen Melanie Wyres Delaney, age 46, entered the gates of Heaven on , 29, 2011, after a long courageous battle with Leukemia. Beloved wife of Patrick Joseph Delaney of 16 years, and mother of Sarah Jane Delaney. Daughter of Mildred Harris Wyres and Herman Huey Wyres. Sister of Debra Elaine Burgamy. Granddaughter of the late Jane Whitlock and Robert Harris, Sr. Aunt of Daniel Matthew Burgamy and Hunter Benjamin Burgamy, and the late David Michael Burgamy. Survived by a great aunt Lucille Carney; cousins Julie and Angie Murrow; mother-in-law Esta Delaney; in-laws Albert and Emily Delaney, Donald and Shannon Patin, Robert and Rebecca McCandless, David Delaney, Randy and Lauren Camardelle, and numerous loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is also survived by her loving pets Hailey, Pepper, Peanut, Jazz and Wolf. Karen was an employee of Ochsner System for 23 years. A special thank you to the 8th floor Oncology Department at Ochsner, Lauren Camardelle, Rebecca McCandless, and Julie Murrow for their special love and care during her treatment. Obituary: BENTON, LA - John David Delaney, 74 of Benton, LA, passed away on 19th, 2017. There will be a Celebration of Life held at Hill Crest on , 22nd, 2017 at 2:30 PM. Burial will take place at Hill Crest Memorial Park following the service. Visitation will be held on , 21st, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. He was born in Orlando, Florida on 7th, 1942. John received multiple certifications in banking from schools of banking and also attended Tennessee Tech. He was married to Mary Ann Carson Delaney on 10th, 1967. He had a career in banking for FDIC, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and he also had a Real Estate License. John was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bossier City, LA. He had a passion for tennis, family and grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents, William H. Delaney Jr. and Mildred Rosenberg; Step-Father, Abe Rosenberg; Brothers, Thomas Delaney and William H. Delaney III. He was survived by his wife, Mary Ann Delaney; son, Michael Delaney and Fiancé Rachel Cullins, daughter, Michelle Delaney; grandchildren, MKayla Delaney, Madison Delaney, and Ethan Ates; brother, Robert (Bobby) Delaney and wife Pam of Danville, KY; Aunt, Jo Coombs of Louisville, KY. He is also survived by several cousins. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Bossier City, LA or a donation of your choice in remembrance of John Delaney.
