Obituary: NEW IBERIA - Services will be conducted for Mrs. Glory Delahoussaye, the former Glory Saunier, age 83, at 11:00 am , May 19, 2015 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Gary Schexnayder officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake in Delcambre. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on with a Rosary at 6:30 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on until service time. A native of Delcambre and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Delahoussaye passed away peacefully at 11:22 am on , May 16, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Delahoussaye was a longtime and faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where she was a member of the Choir and served with the Ladies Alter Society at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Delcambre. She also taught 1st grade religion classes with the church for many years. Mrs. Delahoussaye was always ready and willing to serve the church. Along with being a loving mother and wife to her husband of sixty-four years, Raymond Delahoussaye, Mrs. Delahoussaye worked with T.E. Mixon Lumber for over forty years as a book keeper. She was a loving, kind, and caring woman who gave all her time to the service of others. She will be deeply missed by all those she knew and loved. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Delahoussaye; son, Joey Delahoussaye and wife Norma; daughters, Jenny D. Henry, Mona D. Rodrigue and husband Jimmy, and Angie D. Stein and husband Kenneth; grandchildren, Shantel Oliveri, Ryan Henry, Erin Vaughan, Kevin Rodrigue, Jenee R. Romero, Hanna Rodrigue, Brittney Stein, Mason Stein, Ramsey Stein, Hunter Delahoussaye, and Connor Delahoussaye; seven great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and sister-in-laws, Melby Saunier and Gloria Saunier. She was preceded in death by her son, Saul James Delahoussaye; parents, Bruno, Sr. and Edna LeBlanc Saunier; brothers, James Saunier, Bruno Saunier, Jr., Jeffery Saunier, Jack Saunier, and Jerry Saunier; sisters, Gladys S. Comeaux and Betty S. Fremin; and son-in-law, Larry Henry. Pallbearers will be Joey Delahoussaye, Kenneth Stein, Jimmy Rodrigue, Ryan Henry, Kevin Rodrigue, and Mason Stein. Obituary: services will be held on , 15, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Evangeline of New Iberia, for Mr. Allison Al Joseph Delahoussaye, age 63, who died, following a lengthy and courageous battle with Parkinsons Disease, on , 11, 2016, at his home in Loreauville, Louisiana. Visitation will be on from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM. Interment will be in Holy Family . Survivors include his wife, Roni B. Delahoussaye, daughters Kimmy Delahoussaye Bouy and Elgie Delahoussaye LeBlanc, and step-son Zachary Belaire; sister, Monette Hoffpauir (Percy); brothers Frank Delahoussaye (Marion) and Chad Dupantis (Lorie); and his grandchildren, Tayden LeBlanc, Trayton Derouen, Jessie Bouy and Brant Bouy. He also leaves behind several family pets, especially Henri, Emile, and Paris. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lennis Delahoussaye and Eastlynne Laviolette Dore. Al was born on 11, 1952, in St. Martin Parish where he lived until age five, when his family moved to New Iberia. He graduated from New Iberia Senior High School, class of 1971, where he participated in football and track. Following high school graduation, Al worked as a supervisor for Otis Engineering. His interest in building led to a friendship with Mr. Bill Sandridge, a local first-class builder, who mentored Al. Al learned those special skills and talents which he utilized and taught to his brother, Frank, during the forty years Al owned and operated Allison Delahoussaye Contractors. During those years, Al and his skilled crews built over 400 homes in New Iberia and the surrounding areas, including new homes in Shadows Bend, Terrell Court, and on Avery Island. He was a master builder who took great pride in his work ethic and in his relationships with his clients. Al loved to hunt and fish. Still today, he has never revealed the location of those special fishing holes which led to numerous first place winnings at local and state fishing tournaments. He had a particular fondness for Skeeter boats. Al enjoyed a good weekend at the hunting camp in Mississippi with his family. He was a member of numerous outdoors clubs, including the Bayou Teche Bass Masters, Atchafalaya Basin Bass Masters, Jeanerette Lunker Bass Hunters, and Lafayette Lunker Hunters. Most of all, Al was a kind-hearted, forgiving and generous man. He was a compassionate husband to Roni, evident in the loving care in which she attended to his needs during his illness. He was a steadfast example of love and patience as step-father to Zachary. Al was a believer in Jesus Christ and today his faith has become sight as he has received his eternal reward. The Holy Bible says in Galatians 5:22, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Al lived a life characteristic of these attributes and has left a legacy of love, respect, hard work and an excellent work ethic. His legacy will endure in the family he leaves behind, memories of good times in the outdoors, and the master crafting of homes he built for so many families in south Louisiana. Pallbearers will be Zachary Belaire, Trayton Derouen, Phil Sinitiere, Tommy TJ Ronsonet, Frank Delahoussaye and Percy Hoffpauir. Honorary pallbearers are Tayden LeBlanc and Chad Duplantis.
