Mr. d’Aquin was a member of the AMVETS NOLA Post 4, Steelworkers Union and a proud veteran of U.S. Navy during WWII.

Mother-in-law of Kenneth Naquin, Arthur Arseneaux, and Dr. Christine D’Antonio. Beloved grandmother of Wilson Hughes III (fiancé Arielle Nabatkhorian), Rachel Naquin and Kenneth Naquin, Jr. (Jocelyn), Nicholas, Benjamin, and Rebecca D’Antonio. Great grandmother to Josiah, Audrey, and William Naquin. Mrs. D’Antonio was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie since 1963. She graduated from St. Rose de Lima Elementary, St. Mary’s Dominican High School, Class of 1953, and the University of New Orleans with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education, minor in Science. She taught fifth grade at Marie B. Riviere Elementary in Jefferson Parish for 28 years. She was chosen Jefferson Parish Elementary School Teacher of the Year in 1988. She was a parishioner of St. Angela Merici Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Jefferson Parish Bar Association Auxiliary.

Obituary: Ruby Marie Couvillion D’Antoni, 79, peacefully ended her earthly portion of eternity on , 28, 2014 in the company of her husband of 63 years, Salvador Lawrence D’Antoni Jr. and the large family they both aspired to. She reunited with her parents, Wiltz Jean and Lillian “Couv” Lacour Couvillion. She was the compassionate matriarch of her survivors that included: her children, Donna D. Piediscalzo (Sal), Salvador D’Antoni III (Denise), Lawrence D’Antoni (Debi), James D’Antoni and Chary D. Egan (Art). Additionally she leaves a brother Raymond John Couvillion (Vi), a brother in law Gerald D. D’Antoni Sr. along with her Jefferson garden club (past president 1968-70) and Silver Sneaker friends. Her grandchildren include, Shane, Jennifer, Kristen, Lauren, Joey (Danyelle), Katie, Austin, Meghan and Paige. In addition she is survived by three great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a blessed contingent of close friends that are too numerous to mention.

Ruby grew up in the ninth ward and was a longtime resident of Jefferson parish. She graduated from Holy Angels and Francis T. Nichols. She was a devout catholic who donated her time through the years to St. Clement of Rome, St. Francis Xavier, and St. Ann parishes. She frequently attended Cenacle retreat house and volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul orphanage. Ruby was a people skilled individual who retired after twenty plus years of customer service for Coca Cola bottling. She enjoyed offering all advice in a beautiful Cajun French dialect that she would then translate to English. Among her grandchildren’s favorite was the consoling and appropriate “tout ca va passé Aussi” (This too shall pass). On behalf of her family we thank those that were a part of Ruby’s life and we request that you assist us in celebrating her contributions to life.

Mr. us John DAntoni, Sr. was called home on May 6th 2014 at the age of 85. He was born in Port Hudson and life-long resident of Baton Rouge. Mr. DAntoni was a devoted husband of 64 years to his wife Helen DAntoni and a loving, caring father to his children, grand-children and great-grandchildren.
Mr. DAntoni served his country in the Navy stationed at Litchfield Park, AZ, and received the World War II Victory Medal. He retired from Formosa Plastics after working there for 32 years. He was also a devoted member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen King DAntoni; children, A. J. DAntoni Jr. , Angela DAntoni Bourque, and husband, Greg, Jerry DAntoni, and wife, Nell; grandchildren, James Thomas, J.D., and wife; Sonya, Joseph, and wife, Shere; great grand- children, Dylan, Logan, Layton, Ryan, and Carson DAntoni; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Angelina DAntoni; and brothers, John, Frank and S.V. DAntoni.
Visitation will be held at Greenoaks 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA on , May 9th, 2014 from 5:00pm-9:00pm. Rosary will be recited at 7:oopm. Visitation will resume at Greenoaks, , May 10th at 10:00am till service time of 12:00pm. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Sister Rose Anthony DAlfonso, Daughter of Charity, nee Rose Mary DAlfonso passed away peacefully on , 25, 2013. Born in New Orleans on 31, 1922. She is survived by her brothers, Joseph A. (Philippa) and Anthony Jr. (the late Catherine), several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Mary Puccio DAlfonso.
She graduated from Hotel Dieu School of on 2, 1940 and was then employed at De Paul Hospital, New Orleans. In 1953, she entered the Community of Daughters of Charity in St. Louis, MO. at Marillac. Sister ministered in several Daughters of Charity Missions in Missouri, Texas, South Dakota and Louisiana. In Louisiana she served at Charity Hospital and Padua House. From 1977 to 2000, she served at Carville, LA. Sister then resided at Malta Square. In 2003, she retired to a ministry of prayer at Our Lady of Wisdom .
