Palmer , Gowrie, is in charge of arrangements. Steven is survived by his wife, Wanda Dorsey of Callender; son, A.J. (Katie) Dorsey of Gowrie; grandson, Drew; granddaughter, Charlie; brothers, Tom Dorsey of Fort Dodge; Jon Dorsey of Farnhamville; Joe Dorsey of Callender; sisters, Michel (Roger)Swanson of Twin Lakes; Dy Ann (Irv) Fiala of Callender; Kathy (Dennis) Peterson of Gowrie; Kristy (Rex) Blunk of Mendota, IL; Sara (Tom) Barkley of West Des Moines; Mary Dorsey of West Des Moines; and brother-in-law, Dale Christensen of Callender. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Maxine (Lowry) Dorsey; infant sisters, Mary Ann and Mary Suzanne; and brother, Kelly Dorsey. Steven J. Dorsey was born 3, 1947 in Fort Dodge and graduated from Prairie Community High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968 in Vietnam. Steve operated Dorsey Construction in Callender for many years. He was united in marriage to Wanda Christensen on 19, 1977. Steve was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church, Callender. He loved dirt track racing, NASCAR, and was a proud member of Road Rebels Car Club. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. |

Obituary: Callender - Joseph L. Dorsey II age 51, the fight is over for Joe Battle AKA Joseph L. Dorsey II of The Callender Dorseys. Joe was the youngest of the child of Joseph and L. Maxine (Lowry) Dorsey. Joe was born Sept. 4, 1964 at Fort Dodge, and passed away early , 10, 2016 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice , Fort Dodge, after a lengthy illness. A Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 a.m. , 13, at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, Callender, with Pastor Scott Licht officiating. A private family burial of cremains will be at the Callender . Palmer , Gowrie is serving the family. Survivors include sisters, Michel (Roger) Swanson of Twin Lakes, DyAnn (Irv) Fiala of Callender, Kathy (Dennis) Peterson of Gowrie, Kristy (Rex) Blunk of Mendota, IL, Sara (Tom) Barkley of West Des Moines and Mary Dorsey of West Des Moines; brothers, Thomas Dorsey of Fort. Dodge and Jon Dorsey of Lohrville; and sister-in-law Wanda Dorsey of Callender. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; infant sisters, Mary Ann and Mary Suzanne; and brothers, Kelly and Steven Dorsey. Joe was an avid, near rabid, fan of Hawkeye Football and Basketball as well as being a passionate fan of NASCAR racing. Joe very much enjoyed spending time with his friends and relatives especially his many nieces and nephews as well and great nephews and great nieces and for many of them he was their favorite uncle. A carpenter by trade Joe worked in many places including Colorado, Texas, California, and Nevada. He returned to Callender and worked many years for his brother Steve at Dorsey Construction. |
