Obituary: Horace M. Dyk Dykhuizen, age 99 years, died May 11, 2015. Mr. Dykhuizen was born 30, 1915 in Lafayette, Indiana to George and Alberta Dykhuizen. He married Annabelle Butz on 4, 1941. Horace graduated from Purdue University with degree in Mechanical Engineering. graduation, he was employed by General Electric in Schenectady, New York and later in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 1948 he joined Kunkle Valve Corporation as chief engineer. Dyk retired from Kunkle Valve in 1985 as President and Chairman of the Board. Mr. Dykhuizen was a member of several professional associations and on several boards during his career, but was perhaps most proud of being appointed by the Governor to serve as a member of the board of directors of the Indiana Manufacturers Association. Dyk was a big sports fan and a very loyal follower of his alma mater, Purdue University, and a longtime member of the John Purdue Club. retirement Dyk became an avid golfer and enjoyed living in Fort Myers Beach, Florida during the winters and Fort Wayne during the summers. Mr. Dykhuizen is survived by his wife of 74 years, Annabelle Dykhuizen; 5 children, George Dykhuizen and his wife Sandy, Judy Tkacz, Carol and her husband Jim David, Richard Dykhuizen and his wife Candice, Dennis Dykhuizen and his wife Linda; 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; brother Marvin Dykhuizen and his wife Patricia; sister-in-law Alberta Warwick; brother-in-law Fred Butz and his wife Nancy; many nieces and nephews, and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son John Dykhuizen, and brothers Peter, Ralph and Wilbur Dykhuizen. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. , May 15, 2015 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 East Wallen Road with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Visitation also 5 to 8 p.m. , May 14, 2015 at D. O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley , 1320 East Dupont Road. Entombment in the Catholic . Obituary: Cleveland (Cleve) Dykes, age 68, passed away on , 11, 2011. He was born 15, 1942 in Perry , KY to Samuel and Martha (nee: Caskey) Dykes. He married Ruth Dykes and she survives. Also survived by one son, Jim (Kim) Dykes; daughters: Sharon (Don) Wooden and Karen Dykes; granddaughters: Amanda Dykes and Brittany Wooden; eight siblings: Jewel Pence, Frank Dykes, Bobbie Peach, Billy Dykes, Maxine Fagues, Dorothy Hayes, Sam Dykes and Martin Dykes. Many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Sam and Martha Dykes; and one brother, Ray Arnold Dykes. Cleve worked in the office for Pennsylvania Truck Lines. Cleve will always be remembered for being a Lover of God, Lover of Family and Lover of Life. Cleve loved God with all of his heart, mind, soul and strength. That love always shone through to first, his family, and also to all he came in contact with. He loved every moment of his life and he measured life not by the number of breaths he took, but by the number of moments that took his breath away. He is having the ultimate breathtaking experience now and he will be missed but he is forevermore in our hearts and a part of our lives. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on , 15, 2011 at the Chapel Lawn , 8178 Cline Avenue, Schererville, IN. service for Cleve will be at 11:00 AM on , 16, 2011 at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Wooden officiating.
