Obituary: James Clifton Davis, age 68, passed away , 25, 2016. Mr. Davis was born 30, 1948 in Ruth, MS, son of the late Clifton Davis and Nora King Davis. Mr. Davis proudly served his country in the United States Army. He strongly believed in taking care of his fellow veterans and was an active member of the Patriot Guard for many years. He was a tanker truck driver for over thirty years and retired from Dixie Tank Lines. He loved being outside, riding his John Deere and tending to his yard and watching John Wayne movies. His true passion was quality time with his family and being able to take long road trips with them on their motorcycles. Mr. Davis was a true animal lover and cherished his dogs, Kristen, and Auggie and his two cats, Blacky and Prissy. He is survived by his sons, Travis and Patrick Davis, both of Kingston, GA; brother, Paul (Pat) Davis of Vancleave, MS; sisters, Merle (Tom) Baker and Nola Griffing, all of Brandon, MS; a host of nieces and nephews including his special nephew, Jet Blalock; lifelong friend and former spouse, Pamela Blalock; his best friend, Bo Blalock. A Celebration of Life Service is to be conducted at twelve oclock in the afternoon on , the 1st of in the Chapel of Owen with Pastor Kenneth Green officiating. Interment will follow with an escorted cortege at two oclock in the afternoon to the GA National with military honors presented. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five oclock in the evening until eight, on , the 30th of at Owen . Obituary: James Jim Neal Davis of St. Simons Island passed away , 19, 2016. Jim born in Douglasville, Georgia on 20, 1949 to William Bill and Annice Davis, who predeceased him in death. He is survived by his wife Joan; brother Ken of Douglasville, Georgia; sister Susan (Don) Richardson of Powder Springs, Georgia; step-daughter Maria (Tim) Early of Rock Hill, South Carolina; step-sons Tom (Stacy) Swinson of Amelia Island, Florida and Shawn Swinson (Angela) of St. Simons Island, Georgia. Jim also has one niece, Elizabeth Davis of Douglasville and nephew, Davis Richardson of Powder Springs. There are numerous other step-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He graduated from Douglas High School in 1967 and completed his Bachelor of Architectural Engineering Technology degree from Southern Technical Institute in 1973. He was employed by John Portman Associates and was a partner at Williamson & Associates in Atlanta until he retired in 2000 to St. Simons Island. Jim was a licensed architect and a member of the American Institute of Architects. He held numerous leadership positions within various professional organizations, including being named a Fellow in the Construction Specifications Institute. He was President of the Atlanta Chapter of CSI and remained involved with the local chapter in Glynn . Jim also served on numerous homeowners associations, including President of the Island Club on Sea Island and was on the Island Club Board of Directors. He also volunteered with the Optimist Club, AIA local chapter and assisted with the PGA Tournaments held on Sea Island. Jim and Joan attended the St. Simons Community Church. A Memorial Service will be held on , 26, 2016 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons with a reception to follow. are entrusted to Edo Miller and Sons . |

Obituary: James Franklin Davis, 76, of Marietta, Georgia, died 21, 2016. He was born 9, 1939 in Norman Park, Georgia to the Rev. Byron Cabot Davis and Mary Beatrice Raynor Davis. Jim graduated from Warwick High School. He went to Andrew Junior on a baseball scholarship and later studied at California University of Pennsylvania. He began a long career with BellSouth and AT&T by selling yellow pages in Orlando, Florida. He went on to achieve managerial and district-level positions in Miami and Key West, Florida before coming to Atlanta in 1982. He retired as Vice President of Quality for BellSouth Mobility. Jim is survived by his wife of 28 years, Martha (Groce) Hughes-Davis, his son Cabot Todd Davis of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, daughters and sons-in-law Liza (Hughes) and Hugh Mooney of Marietta, Georgia and Anna (Hughes) and Joseph Nicoletto of Mill Valley, California. He is also survived by sisters Phyllis Rivenbark of Roswell, Georgia, Kay Bridges of Cumming, Georgia, and Ruth Wilson of Hope, Arkansas, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jim was the beloved "Papa" to six grandchildren; Patton, Charles, and Townsend Mooney, and Junie, Phoenix, and Judah Nicoletto. As an avid fisherman, Jim particularly loved the Florida Keys. He loved golf and played many years with the Senior Golf Association at Indian Hills Country Club. While president of the Hialeah-Miami Springs Chamber of Commerce, Jim served as Chairman of the Doral Eastern Open Golf Tournament. He was also an accomplished photographer. For many years, Jim was a dedicated member of St. Peter and St. Paul Episcopal Church in Marietta, Georgia. He served as a Stephen's Minister, and was also involved in Lay Eucharist and Healing Prayer Ministries. Jim's family would like to offer sincerest thanks and gratitude to the dedicated staff members of Manor on the Square in Roswell, Georgia, Helping Hearts Hospice, Golden Rose Personal , and Dr. Rolf Meinhold. A memorial service will be held at 11am , 28, 2016 at St. Peter and St. Paul Episcopal Church in Marietta, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to support Alzheimer's disease research at the Emory Alzheimer's Disease Research .
