Obituary: Margaret Bransford Cloud died 23 at the age of 103 yrs. The daughter of Nelle and James Bransford, she graduated from Ensley High School and The University of Montevallo. She taught high school home economics and then worked as a home economist with Birmingham Electric . In 1938 she married Emmett Wood Cloud and following his service in World War II, they began a long career in real estate, developing many parts of Vestavia, Vesthaven, Indian Springs, Heatherwood, and Chelsea. Margaret had many other talents including cooking, sewing, decorating, gardening, and entertaining many friends. In addition she shared her husband’s love of horses and boating. were among the founding members of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church before moving to St. Peters of the Apostle Church. Although Margaret had no children she was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 67 years. She is survived by her sister-in law, Harriet Cloud; the following nieces and nephews : Holt Cloud(Gretchen), Margaret Balch (Eason), Catherine Redwine, Robert Cloud (Betsy) Harriet Monsalve (Rodrigo) Bill Cloud, Charles Cloud (Cindy) Amy Howser(John), Frances Oster, Sally Jones, and Emmett Oster; and 19 great & 8 great-great nieces and nephews. Services will be held , 27 at Elmwood Chapel, 800 Dennison Ave. SW with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peters Catholic Church or a charity of your choice. |
