Obituary: Stephen Horspool Chenoweth a lengthy illness, Stephen Horspool Chenoweth, 35, returned to his Heavenly on 9, 2015. He arrived in this world on 29, 1979 to parents William Arthur Chenoweth and Carol Horspool Chenoweth in Birmingham, Alabama. He was full of energy, love of life and had a smile which lit up a room. He was a gentle and caring soul. Stephen graduated from Mountain Brook High School in 1997 where he was awarded the Spartan Spirit Award his senior year. He continued his studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder and American University in Washington D.C. as well as many trips internationally. The interaction he had with people of many nationalities influenced his ability to be objective, tolerant, and insightful. His ability to write with this thought process made him a favorite with his professors. He enjoyed photography, history, and writing. Stephen had a love of nature and being active outdoors before his illness prevented it. He had the opportunities to go mountain biking in the Rockies, skiing in Park City, canoeing in the Quetico, the beach at Destin and enjoyed staying at the lake house at Logan Martin Lake with family and friends. Many days were spent riding watercraft, wake boarding and swimming. He is survived by his father, William Arthur Chenoweth of Birmingham, Alabama, his mother, Carol H. Price of Roanoke, Virginia, his brother, William Arthur Chenoweth, Jr., of Birmingham, Alabama, his step-father, David C. Price of Roanoke, Virginia and his step-sisters Jennifer A. Price of Richmond, Virginia and Sarah Hefner of Raleigh, North Carolina along with 16 aunts and uncles and 32 first cousins. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed. There will be a graveside service at Elmwood at the Chenoweth Family Site on , 15, 2015 at 12:00 noon. Visitation will be held on , 14, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ridout's Valley Chapel 1800 Oxmoor Road, wood, Alabama 35209. |

Obituary: Becky Irene Chenault, age 88 passed peacefully in her home on 25, 2015. A gathering of friends will be on , 27, 2015 from 5pm to 7pm at Roselawn . A celebration of her life will on at 11:00am in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow in Roselawn . Mrs. Chenault was born 11, 1927 and grew up in Lawrence Alabama. She spent her later working years as a custodian at Gordon Bibb Elementary School, but often referred fondly to her early working days waiting tables at the café at Woolworths in Decatur. Affectionately known as Memaw she was often found digging in the dirt planting her tomatoes and flowers. She found great joy in spending time with her family and talking about he good old days. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Claude Chenault, three brothers Lewis Lee Gibson, James Herschel Gibson, John Henry Gibson, five sisters Lillian Smith, Edith Mitchell, Lorine Hill, Melanie Hill and her beloved daughter Patsy Lucille. She is survived by two granddaughters Melanie Marsh (Dan) and Kelly Stewart (Scott) and one grandson Josh Bartlett (Jarah); five great grandchildren (Grace, Jack, Aleah, Sophie and Shepherd). Pallbearers will be friends and family. |
