Obituary: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruth Vincent Chapman (Babe) peacefully in her home on 31, 2015. She was born on 9, 1926, in Birmingham, Alabama, where she spent her entire life. Ruth was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She retired from AT&T after 35 years as a Service Analyst, after which she enjoyed many years spent with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Lawson Vincent and Mrs. Bonnie Vincent; son, Mr. James Chapman, Jr.; granddaughter, Ms. Shawn Sumners; and sister, Mrs. Pat Olin. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Powers and Patti (Frank) Griffin, and daughter-in-law, Beth Chapman, all of Hoover; two granddaughters, Nicole (Christopher) Watkins, of Birmingham, and Amelia (Donald) Battle, of Bluff Park; two grandsons, Taylor and Thatcher Chapman, of Hoover; a niece, Charlotte (Lee) Rambin, of Houston, Texas; and six great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter. We will miss her smile, her warmth, and her kind and giving heart. She was truly a one-of-a-kind person, an angel who will be missed by all. Visitation will be held on , 3, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage in Pelham, Alabama. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. |

Obituary: Roger Dale Chapman, 71, passed away 11, 2016 at his home in Millry. He was born 31, 1944. He had a deep love for the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He retired from Power South in Leroy after many years of service to the company as an instrumentation technician. Many of his co-workers were among his dearest friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Author Chapman and Dorthy Chapman. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Penny Chapman of Millry; his two sons, Alex Chapman of Atlanta, GA and Rodney Chapman of New Orleans, LA; three brothers, Roy (Carolyn) Chapman of Millry, Jimmy (Linda) Chapman of Battsville, MS, Donnie (Lois) Chapman of Needham; sister, Diane (Foy) Jenkins of Needham and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Obituary: Ray was born 31, 1933 and went to be with the Lord 4, 2015 at the age of 82 after fighting heart and kidney disease. Ray is preceded in death by his mother Hettie Lee and father Perry Lee Chapman. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara; one daughter Cindy Muncher (husband Tony); two sons Timothy Chapman (wife Emily) and Stephen Chapman (wife ). The grandchildren are Steven Muncher (Christine), Mary Beth Ricketts (Justin), Carter Chapman, Hunter Chapman, Tyler Chapman, Anna Chapman, Faith Chapman and Connor Chapman. He has one great-granddaughter, Emmaline Georgia Ricketts. Ray was a graduate of Woodlawn High School and Howard now Samford University. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was also a Mason. Ray and Barbara have been members of First Baptist Church of Trussville for 45 years. Ray taught 6th grade boys and a mens School Class during this time. Visitation will be 6, 2015 evening from 5:30PM until 8:00 PM at Ridouts Trussville Chapel. The funeral service will be 6, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Ridouts Trussville Chapel. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. |
