Obituary: Billy Cruce went home to be with the Lord he loved and served on night, 9, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janice Goode Cruce, his son, Barrett, and wife Amy, their children, Maili and Makena, and his daughter, Jill, and husband, y and their children, Charissa and Brock, his brother, Charlie, and wife Debbie, their son, Chet, his sister, Marsha Hannay and her husband, Keith, their children, Rebekah Hannay Jordan and her husband Justin, Amanda Hannay Clark and husband Aaron, and Mark Hannay. He is also survived by many cousins. Billy graduated from Taylor High in Perry, Florida, and Howard (now Samford University) in Birmingham, Alabama. He earned his Master of Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry degrees from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. seminary he served in First Baptist Church of Lakeland, Florida, as Pastors Assistant and Minister of Youth. From 1969 until 1975, Billy with his wife Janice, were missionaries in East Africa. Following this, he served as pastor of Southside Baptist Church, Brandon, Florida. In 1983, he came to Thomasville Road Baptist Church in Tallahassee, Florida, where he spent 18 years as pastor, closing his ministry there as Pastor Emeritus. During his semi-retirement, he became a Pastor to Pastors with Live the Life Ministries. In this position he used the experiences of his life to encourage other pastors. Billy derived much pleasure from his service with Meals on Wheels each . He knew that he received much more than he gave. In these later years, he received much joy from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Papa, as he was affectionately called, looked forward to each visit with them. These visits included wonderful adventures that his family will always remember. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. , at Thomasville Road Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a Christian Ministries of your choice are under the direction of Culleys MeadowWood , Tallahassee, FL. |
