Obituary: Renée Craig (née Germain) was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on 2, 1915, the third of ten children. Affectionately known by many as Man-Renée, Mrs. Craig was a mother to all who came to know her. She was a seamstress who specialized in mens shirts who also babysat and thus helped raise countless children in Haiti and the United States. Very fond of music, Renée loved dancing in many of its forms. A lover of life, she fancied heartthrobs like José Luis Rodríguez, Julio Iglesias, and, her last boyfriend, Ricky Martin. But the true love of her life was her late husband, Emmanuel Craig, who died in 1951, after 13 years of marriage and 7 children. She never remarried. Not counting almost two years she spent living in Santiago de Cuba (where her husband grew up) in the mid-1940s, Man-Renée lived in Haiti until 1966 when she moved to New York. She eventually settled in Miami in 2001. She welcomed each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren into the world and into the family with a special dance she would guide them all through as tender newborns - all with the same konpa, or rhythm. For the children, she also shared her gifts of healing in both word and touch. In the latter, she always kept a large jar of her own home remedy (panzou) filled with a peculiarly pungent potion of herbs which she dutifully rubbed on whatever part ached. For the former, she was the proud purveyor of proverbs, though not all Biblical. For example, she was equally fond of the 91st Psalm as she was of an old French saying that promised that What the Lord guarded, He guarded well. Renée Craig made her transition into immortality on 24, 2013 with her granddaughter Jennifer Lamothe by her side. Man Renée is survived by her sisters, Gisele Alvarez and Alice Germain, her children, Jisselaine MacGuffie, Gladys McGuffie, Ricardo Craig, Mario Craig, Elsie Craig, Raymond Craig, Carl Craig, and Reginald Germain, 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, sons and daughters-in-law and a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins. Man-Renée also leaves behind many, many loving friends but she has not left her loved ones empty-handed. Obituary: Philip Justin Craig, 63, of Rockledge, Florida passed away on , 19, 2017. He was born 7, 1953 in Hays, Kansas to his loving parents Gene and Dora Craig. Phil, a local painting contractor and businessman, loved music and singing above all other interests. He loved anything outdoors--including boating, fishing, and gardening. He had the unique and innate ability to enjoy to the fullest whatever his familys/friends activities were at the moment. He was a huge Kansas State fan who had at least 25 hats supporting his favorite team. Phil was a strong man of faith and boldly shared his belief in Jesus Christ with other people. He never hesitated to help people in need, whether through opening his home to them or simply praying with them. His big heart and genuine love for people will live on. Phil is survived by his lovely wife of 41 years, Sherri, and three wonderful children: Jason, 40, of Tampa, FL, Jessica Cain, 30, of Dahlonega, GA, and Jamie Miller, 29 of Arlington, VA; two precious grandchildren, Autumn Craig, 14 of Rockledge, FL, and Colton Cain, 14 months of Dahlonega, GA; two sisters, Cynthia Steeples of Palco, KS, Barbara Coffey of Baldwin, KS; two brothers, Douglas Craig of Round Rock, TX, and Ward Craig of Russell, KS. He is predeceased by his parents, Gene and Dora Craig of Natoma, KS; brother, Daniel Craig of San Diego, CA, and sister, Cecilia Klemm, of Modesto, CA.
