Obituary: John E. Jack Cooper, Sr., of Davenport, Florida, passed away on , 2, 2015. He was born in Philadelphia on 13, 1944, and was the son of the late Robert J. Cooper, Sr. and the late Mary Emma Chevers Cooper. Jack was the beloved husband of Marita Kelly Cooper for 48 magical years and the loving father of Alison Rife and her husband Howard and John E. Jr. and his wife Laura. He was the cherished Poppe of Emma and Eleanor and Poppe-the Great of Kylie and Caleb. He is also survived by his brothers Robert J. Cooper, Jr., Ronald W. Cooper and sister Deborah Cooper Keller, many nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his sister Constance Winterle and his mother -in-law Eleanor Kelly. Jack was grocery manager for the Lawndale Market for 19 years. He and his family resided in the Lawndale section of Philadelphia for 14 years before moving to Montgomery then Buckingham Springs in Bucks , Pennsylvania. He and Marita finally moved to their dream home in Davenport, FL and became neighbors with Mickey Mouse & Friends. He was part of many organizations: President of and School Association and Bowling League at St. Williams, Melrose Academy Parent Association, Kiwanis, Committeeman in Philadelphia, Lawncrest AA -Soccer Coach, St. Basil Academy Parent Association, Fundraising Committee for Buckingham Springs and Citizens Assisted Patrol– Polk Sheriffs Office. He was involved in the Ridgewood Lakes Community, but most importantly was such a presence to so many by keeping in touch with hundreds of friends and family by sending his infamous, home-made greeting cards, jokes and quotes (Don tell Marita)… I hope that he knew how many smiles he gave to so many.
