Obituary: Louise Bradley Coombs, 76, of Tallahassee, passed away , 6, 2017 in Tallahassee. She was born in Tallahassee on 18, 1940 to the late Lirse and Beatrice Nichols and was a graduate of Leon High School. Louise had worked many years in the printing industry. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Gerald Coombs. She is also survived by her daughter, Sherri Bradley McCann (John) and her son Darin Bradley (Tammy). Other survivors include two step children; Jerry Coombs (Tina) and Dawn Randolph (Mike); eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four sisters and four brothers. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her son Gary Bradley. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on , 8, 2017 at Miccosukee Methodist . Obituary: Edwin C. Coombs, Jr., 74, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born 28, 1941, in Warren, Ohio. He graduated from Cortland High School and attended Youngstown State University. Ed married his wife, Connee Williams, in 1962. made their home in Cortland, Ohio. He was with Dick Adgate Florist for 34 years before moving to Port St Lucie, Florida, and acquired Flowers by Susan in 1991. He was an avid reader, a golfer, and he loved to travel. Ed attended Morningside Church and was a member of the PSL Elks Lodge #2658. Ed was preceded in death by his parents Edwin C. Coombs, Sr. and Grace Coombs; brothers-in-law R. Joseph Williams and Wiley S. Williams I. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Connee; his daughter Tami (Scott) Mateer and son, Eric; grandchildren Nikolas, Meghan, and Jacob Mateer and Christian and Connor Coombs; sister Nina Coombs Pykare; brothers-in-law Thomas M. Williams and Tyghe K. Williams; and many nieces and nephews. A ceremony to celebrate his life will be held , 20th, at 1:30pm at Morningside Church. Visitation will begin at 1pm with the ceremony at 1:30pm. |

Obituary: Edna Horton Coombs, 87, of Tallahassee, passed away peacefully on , 4, 2014, at Big Bend Hospice, Tallahassee. Born in Moultrie, GA, the daughter of the late Will Daughtry and Thelma (Plymel) Daughtry, she had lived in Tallahassee since 1964. She was the widow of Roger P. Coombs, who died in 1974. Edna worked for the Florida Game and Fish Commission until her retirement in 1989, after 25 years. She was baptized in what was then Crawfordville Road Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and was known for her baking among many friends and even business associates. She volunteered at TMH, took meals to shut-ins, and planned an annual garage/plant sale that drew many over the years. In her later years, she loved bird-watching and taking care of her special dog friends. Mrs. Coombs is survived by her son, Dennis Horton, and his wife, Judy, of Tallahassee, and their children, Penni Horton, of Tallahassee, Clay Horton, of San Diego, and Jason Horton. Also surviving is her daughter, Sharon H Mead Pickerill, and her husband, Jay, of Middletown, CT along with their children Amanda Mead Essenmacher (Mark) of Albuquerque, NM, Ben Mead (Claire) of Lakewood Village, TX, and David Mead, Newberry, SC. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, many close cousins, and two dear nephews. She was known as "mom" to many younger people throughout her life in Tallahassee. Her doctor, Armand, was very special to her and treated her more like a mom than a patient. She was predeceased by her daughter, Patsy Horton Campbell, (Denny), and her brother, Fred Daughtry, (Mae) of TX. The visitation will be conducted at Culley's MeadowWood , 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee, on , 9, 2014 at 6:00 pm. The private burial will be at Roselawn , 804 Piedmont Dr, Tallahassee, at 10:00 am , 10, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice or American Cancer Society. |
