Obituary: Richard Cairns Cook, 91, passed away on 3, 2016 in Stuart, Florida. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Mr. Cook previously lived in Dayton, NJ before moving to Stuart in 1984, and he spent most summers throughout his life in Cape May Point, NJ. Mr. Cook was a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and Duke University and did additional graduate work at Syracuse University and Rutgers University, where he was acting Chairman of the Forestry Department. He was an executive with Johnson and Johnson for twenty years, and later, a director with the National Wholesale Druggists Association (now known as the care Distribution Management Association). He was a long-term member of the Archaeological Society of New Jersey as well a member of the Penn State Pioneer Club and the Duke University Half Century Club. Mr. Cook proudly served with the United States Army Air Corp 451st Bomb Group in Italy during World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post 386 in Cape May, New Jersey. He is survived by three daughters: Carolyn Gotay (Mark) of West Vancouver, BC; Pamela Cook (Paul Gietzel) of San Rafael, CA; and Diane Cook of Raleigh, NC; and grandchildren, Alexander Gotay of West Vancouver, BC; Maria Gotay of Brooklyn, NY; and Kevin Gietzel (Sandy Rogers) of Roseville, CA; and many loving friends. He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Winifred Imhof Cook, and his brother, Carter Cairns Cook. A private gathering will be held on , 6, 2016 starting at 10:30 AM at the Aycock in Stuart, FL. Interment will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens, Stuart, FL. Obituary: Richard F. Cook, 66, of North Palm Beach, Florida (formally of Plymouth), passed away 26th from natural causes. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Dianne (Daley) Cook, his beloved daughter Christine (Cook) DaLuz, and son in law Roger and their two children Joshua and Brody of New Bedford, his son Brian and daughter in law Melissa (James) Cook and their three children Cameron, Colin, and Colleen of Needham, his son David and daughter in law Alexis (Vitti) Cook of Manhattan, N.Y. Also survived by sisters Joan and husband Ted Meehan, Elaine and husband Kenneth Kuhns, Judy Villa, Janet Cook, Donna Oneil, and his brother Gary and wife Joanne Cook. Brother in law of Barbara Staruski and her late husband Paul. Brother in law of Barbara Daley, and late husband Michael. Preceded in death by brothers Alan and Kenneth, sisters Theresa Connolly and Anne Marie Floyd. As well as Father and Mother in law Michael and Harriet Daley. Richard was born in Boston, and formally resided on Sharps Drive in Plymouth for 18 years. He was the son of the late Stephen and Mildred Cook of Hyde Park. Richard graduated from Don Bosco High School in 1961. He then went on to graduate from Wentworth Institute of Technology with a degree in Nuclear Engineering. For the next 35 years he worked as a Nuclear engineer at Yankee Atomic in Rowe, and for Boston Edison at the Pilgrim Power Plant in Plymouth. During this time he received the esteemed (SRO) Senior Reactor Operator?s License, which enabled him to run nuclear power plants. For the past several years Richard worked as a Nuclear Engineering Consultant at various locations around the country. This newfound passion allowed him to travel with his wife, which brought him much happiness. Richard loved spending time with his wife, 3 children, 5 grandchildren, extended family and friends. He loved watching the boats pass by at his home in Florida, which he so beautifully called ?Paradise?. A funeral mass will be held on , 6th at St. Bonaventure?s Church at 11 am followed by burial at Manomet . The calling hours will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. on 5th at the Richard Davis , 619 State Road (Rte 3A), Plymouth (Manomet). |

A native of Maynard, Arkansas, he was born 21, 1928, to Montie and Sarah (Johnson) Cook, one of four children. Obituary: Raymond Lorien Cook, Sr., retired Air Force Lt. Colonel, 84, of Milton, Florida, died , 23, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Naomi Whittaker Cook; son Raymond L. Cook, Jr. and wife Pam; daughter, Rita Cook Gibson and her husband, Randall; son, Rusty A. Cook and his wife, Julie, daughter, Robin Cook Couillou and her husband, James; 15 grandchildren and 19 1/2 great-grandchildren. He was born in Russell, Arkansas, on 11, 1931. He was the second of eight children. He is also survived by 4 sisters and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Cook joined the Air Force in 1950 after graduating from Gideon High School in Gideon, Missouri. He met Naomi when he was home on leave from Mill Valley Air Force Base, California. He served four years as an enlisted man. He subsequently enrolled in the University of Missouri Engineering School and also served in the Air Force Reserves. graduating with a BS in Engineering in 1958, he and his wife moved to Pensacola, Florida, where his four children were born. He began working for Gulf Power and continued to serve in the Air Force Reserves. As a Technical Sergeant in Pensacolas 9976th Air Reserve Squadron, he received his 1st Lieutenants bars. He was the third reservist in the Pensacola unit to receive a direct commission. When his youngest daughter was three months old, he was called into active duty during the Cuban crisis. The family then moved to George AF Base in Victorville, California, where he served for a year and a half. He was then transferred to Ellsworth AFB, Rapid City, South Dakota. serving a year and a half as the base Bio-Medical Engineer, he was released from active duty. He then accepted a position as an Environmental Engineer with the Environmental Protection Association (EPA) in Washington, D.C. In 1966, he was transferred to the Atlanta office of EPA where he continued to serve in the AF Reserves. On 11, 1991, he retired from the Air Force as a Lt. Colonel with 39 years, 11 months and 23 days of service -reserve and active duty. retiring from EPA, he worked a couple of years as a consultant with PEER Consultants of Washington, D.C. in their Atlanta office. Not long after he left his position with PEER, he and his wife moved to the Pensacola area where they had some property in Milton. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and riding around his property on his tractor. There will be a full Military Honors service on 1, 2015, which will be held at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, 3700 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville, Georgia 30039 (770-972-3260) on , 1, 2015. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with services beginning at 3:00 p.m. Bishop Jacob Douglas will be officiating with Mr. Cooks seven grandsons serving as honorary pall bearers. The family wished to extend their gratitude to Dr. Joseph Howard and his dedicated staff for their service to Mr. Cook and the family.
