Obituary: James Madison Coffee, Jr., Born 18, 1918, reached up and took the hand of Jesus on 5, 2015, at the age of 96, to celebrate eternal life and complete his family circle. Preceded in death, his parents James and Bessie Coffee, his sister Virginia and brother Robert joyfully welcomed him home. A WWII veteran, James proudly served his country in the Army Air Forces and later fulfilled his passion for education at Duke and Cornell Universities before finishing his doctorate in education at Harvard University. Over his lifetime, he was blessed with a rewarding career in guidance and counseling at Clark University, Jacksonville University and finally retiring from Stetson University. He loved his Lord and Savior and enjoyed teaching School as a member of Lake Shore Baptist Church. He is not gone from our hearts \ just gone ahead, and the Lord is his Shepherd, he shall not want. It is well with his soul. May the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, keep our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. The family gratefully appreciates the loving care he received from the staff of angels at All Saints Catholic . James is survived by his nieces Donna Orvin (Pat) and Sharon Hilton, two great nieces Julie Stimson (Matt) and Stacie Carithers (Kyle), as well as many dear friends and cousins. services will be held , 10, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Town and Country , 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205, with Reverend Steve Mouzon officiating. Obituary: Erma Lee Coffee, 87, of Crystal River, FL, passed away on Fri., Oct. 28, 2016 at Oak Hill Hospital, Brooksville, FL. A native of Millstone, KY, she was born 10, 1929 to Clay and Stella (Crase) Goins, one of six children. Erma moved to Crystal River in 1974 from Whitesburg, KY and was a lifelong homemaker. Her love of children and family propelled her into many adventures in babysitting, an experience she loved and cherished, since moving to Citrus . She was a former member of First Assembly of God in Crystal River and later in her life became a member of Calvary Church in Inverness. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Luster Coffee, Crystal River and Spring Hill, FL; four children: Timothy Caudill (wife Lori), Inverness, FL; Ivol Caudill, Jr. (wife Frances), Toledo, OH; James Caudill, Homosassa and Teresa Reed (husband Mike), Spring Hill, FL; four stepchildren: Anne Laura Perkins (husband Ken), Brooksville, FL; Lisa Johnson (husband Dennis), Georgia; Carole Vince (husband David), California and Paula Robin Arnold (husband David), Georgia; brother William Floyd Fessie Goins (wife Darlene), Hayden, Idaho; grandchildren Trevor, Teri, Ivol Clay, Stephanie, Jonathan, Michael, Vanessa, Penny, Brandon and Myka and great grandchildren Schuyler, Kati, Ivol III, Michael, Reed, Charity, Hunter, Grace, Makalah, Maverick and Makenna. Erma was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Ivol Caudill, on Oct. 23, 1971 and four sisters; Monzel, Hudson and Joanne and a brother, James Emmit; as well as a stepson, Aldus Buchanan Coffee. Obituary: Sylvia Beverly Coffaro, age 83 of Longwood, Florida passed away on 23, 2017. Born 13, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to Norwegian immigrants (the late Elias and Annamore Johnsen). She was proud of the fact that her parents traveled to America during the Great Depression and were able to acclimate to the culture while instilling strong faith based values in her. She later moved to the Central Florida area where she lived out the remainder of her life. Sylvia was a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse at Waterman Memorial Hospital where she was known by her peers as “Sly” for her creative ways of working through challenging situations. She loved to travel to see the world and her greatest travel to date was to be a European Cruise that was to take place in with one of her dearest friends. She valued and cherished her family. She was extremely proud off all of them and spent countless hours sharing stories with anyone who would listen. She was most proud of the fact that she was personally able to be in the delivery room of each of her grandchildren’s births. As her children grew the Church became an increasingly important part of her life. Sylvia often referred to fellow members of The First Baptist Orlando as her “Church Family.” It was here that she discovered that she possessed the ability to touch others through worship services and volunteering to help others. As she returned to the Lord she was blessed to have two families that loved her without limits. In the difficult times, Sylvia relied heavily on her strong faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She expressed in her last days that if somehow her passing served as a way of bringing anyone to Jesus, it would be one of the greatest honors of her life. Sylvia is survived by her loving children Robert (Patricia) Coffaro, Rebecca Coffaro, Bonnie Coffaro Giroux, Philip Coffaro, Patricia Coffaro Hutcheson, Suzette (Mark) Williamson, Angie(Brenden) Rendo, John (Stephanie) Coffaro, and Alice Robison. She is also survived by her four legged little girl Sassy and “Her Church Family” at the First Baptist Church Orlando”. In her passing she has been reunited with her little boy William Coffaro. Her surviving grandchildren are Rachel, Christine, Jaime, Christina, Philip II, Chance, Taylor, Hannah, Brenden, Jillian, Jordan, Conner, Danielle, Joshua, Joel. Great grandchildren Ariel, Grace, Jordan, Clay, Gabriel, Eve, and Vera. She was also reunited with two of her grandchildren Sherri and Cole taken far too soon. One of Sylvia’s last travel experiences was one of her many 16 hour “non-stop” drives to Chicago to say goodbye to her big sister Lillian Ann Mason who passed in of 2016. Family and Friends wishing to honor the life of Sylvia are welcomed to join together , 28th from 10:00 - 11:30 AM at the First Baptist Church Orlando in Henry Chapel - 3000 S John Young Pkwy, Orlando, FL 32805.
