Obituary: The Reverend Leland M. Caulder entered the church triumphant 16, 2016, after a very brief illness. Pastor Caulder was born 11, 1924, in Andrews, SC to the late Julius M Caulder and Retha L Skipper Caulder. He joined the US Marine Corps in 1943, and served in the Pacific Theater. his release from the USMC in 1946, he attended Holmes Bible in Greenville, SC for two years then transferred to Newberry , SC. While at Newberry he met the love of his life, Mary R Snelgrove, who, on 8, 1950, became his wife. were married nearly 60 years until her death on 18, 2010. had two children Leland (Lee), Jr. and Ruth Kristi Elaine (died 24, 2009). graduating from Newberry and teaching for one year, Pastor Caulder felt the tug of the Holy Spirit and entered Lutheran Southern Theological Seminary where he graduated in 1954. Following graduation, he became an ordained Lutheran pastor. During his 32 years of ministry he served at various parishes throughout the Southeast and Texas. The parishes he served were: St James, Chilhowie, VA; Holy Trinity, Kingsport, TN; First Lutheran, Nashville, TN; Grace Lutheran, Houston, TX; Shades Valley Lutheran, Birmingham, AL; and Accession Lutheran, Jackson, MS. retiring in 1986, Pastor Caulder engaged in the third passion of his life, after the Church and Mary, golf. He became a starter at a country club and was able to play almost every day until the time his beloved Mary passed. In 2011, Pastor Caulder moved to Columbia, SC to be closer to Lee and his wife, Denise. All of Pastor's siblings preceded him in death and he is survived by his son, six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Lutheran, 7239 Patterson Road, Columbia, SC on , 19, 2016. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Thompson at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road. Graveside services will be on , 21, 2016 at 2:45 p.m. at Alabama National , Montevallo, AL. |

Obituary: Rev. Robert (Bob) Caufield 13, 1929 - May 5, 2015 Died on May 5, 2015 at Summerford , Falkville, Alabama. Born in Gardendale, Alabama to Hale and Irene Caufield, attended Mortimer Jordan High School (class of 1947). Bob answered the call to ministry when he was 18, graduated from Birmingham Southern and Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Divinity. He met Rosa in college, they married in 1952, and together they became missionaries to Bolivia for the United Methodist Church, North Alabama Conference. spent the next 36 years in Bolivia, opening 3 vocational schools in developing areas of the country, and receiving an award from the Bolivian Minister of Education. In 1993, he was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Birmingham Southern. retiring back to the US in 1991, he continued to be active in the church, preaching, teaching and leading work camps. He was predeceased by his wife Rosa in 2000, his second wife RuthAnn in 2010, his step-son Paul Robinson, and his step-daughter Joyce Lynn Sosa. He is survived by his children Phyllis (Darwin) Owens, Susan (Chuck) Carman, Steve (Denice) Caufield and Jennine ( ) Zumbuhl; his stepchildren Patricia (Jim) Raymond, Rose Lynn Robinson, Henry (Tracee) Robinson; his grandchildren Andrew and David Carman, Paige and Hayley Owens, Rachel Caufield (Kasey) Speakman, Christina Caufield (Trent) Cronin, and Margaret Caufield, Alex, Austin and Anna Zumbuhl; his great- grandchild Tiffany Moss-Speakman; his step-grandchildren Caleb, Judah and Joshua (Emiliee) Robinson, Andres (Rosina), Daniel (Silvana) and Luis (Nasqui) Prudencio, Anthony Sosa, Evan and Ethan Robinson and Alessandra Agostinelli-Mantzey; and 6 step great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings Alice Bunny Cowart, Barbara (Mike) McLaughlin, Steve (JoAnn) Caufield, Georgeanna (Jack) Metcalf and brother-in-law Charles (JoAnn) Woods and numerous nieces and nephews. His funeral services will be May 9th, 2015 at 10:00am at the Holly Pond United Methodist Church 37851 US Highway 91, Holly Pond, Alabama 35083.
