Obituary: David Young Cho 27, 1954 - 28, 2015 David Young Cho was born on 27, 1954 in Worcester, Massachusetts. He grew up a true Bostonian in Brookline, MA developing a lifelong love and loyalty for the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. He fondly recalled stories of getting cheap tickets to Red Sox games and watching his beloved team struggle for the pennant. The summer before his freshman year, Dave was working with his buddies mapping out the busses to high school when he found out that he had been accepted to the prestigious Phillips Exeter Academy. Upon arriving on campus he quickly became a popular personality. There he witnessed historic events such as the Academy becoming co-ed, purchased his first car the “Cho-mobile,” and played epic pranks like the time he placed a teacher’s car on the roof. senior year, he drove the Cho-mobile to Providence, RI to attend Brown University. It was there that he organized a student concert featuring a fledgling band later to hit it big, Aerosmith. It was also at Brown that he would meet the love of his life, Kello Katie. The first time they met they were at a Korean professor’s house and Dave was dancing, singing and telling jokes. Kello remarked, “Who is this audacious freshman who is acting like he knows everyone?” Little did she know, he had taken a year off to do research and was actually a Junior. Lucky for Dave he had a chance to win her heart when they were both students at Ewha International Summer Program in Seoul, Korea. college, Dave married Kello and whisked her away to their first home in Sharon, MA. There they brought their two daughters, Jennifer and Katherine, into the world. Dave loved to host weekend parties with his neighbors and take his family to special outings in Boston Gardens. In 1989, he asked his daughters if they wanted to move to Phoenix or Orlando. Of course, his daughters chose Disney World. And with that, the family was packed into their car and driving down to their new home in the Sunshine State. There they began to make lifelong friends and memories… including Dave keeping his promise of taking the girls to Disney World. Every. Weekend. Soon Dave had built a beautiful family home. From there they embarked on other adventures: a European summer, trips to Seoul, cruises with family friends, and everything in between. These memories were memorialized in the pages of the scrapbooks that his wife created at Creative Memories parties. Ever the devoted husband, Dave set up the tables and helped prepare for all of the incoming scrappers. Dave was an avid golfer, keeping a weekly tee time at Wekiva Golf Club. Thanks to his great attention to detail, he was the go-to guy for organizing the golf pools and poker games. His other hobby was supporting his daughters’ hobbies. He was a coach for many of their extracurricular activities including Jennifer’s Odyssey of the Mind team and Katherine’s lacrosse team. Unfortunately in of 2012, he lost his beloved wife after a long battle with cancer. Following this devastating loss, Dave and his daughters continued to make memories, through family trips and the acquisition of a new family member, his miniature schnauzer, Kato. Dave was a loving man, always giving and full of life, but sadly his heart gave out and he was taken from us too soon. As his wife Kello would say to their daughters, “Your dad is the most thoughtful man I know.” Such a man, who was always thinking of others first, will always be thought of and remembered with love. Dave is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jim Magiera; daughter, Katherine Cho and mother, Sahsook Cho. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM, , 3, 2015 at Baldwin Fairchild , Oviedo Chapel. A Service will be held at 9 AM , 4, 2015 at the funeral home.
