Obituary: Lillian S. Chiera, 95, passed away on 1, 2017 in Ormond Beach, FL. She was born to the late Louis and Helen (Racketa) Durdik. Lillian moved from Ohio to DeLeon Springs in 1974 and was employed for many years at Brunswick in DeLand. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church as a school teacher, helped with numerous church activities including Bible School and the weekly after school programs. Over the years, we have all enjoyed the benefits of her sewing and knitting skills, as well as, her love and friendship. In 2015 she moved to Ormond Beach to live with Sue and her husband Michael and became a devoted member of the Tomoka Christian Church. Above all, she loved all her grandchildren, friends and her savior, Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Chiera. Lillian is survived by her daughter, Sue Shannon, 4 grandchildren Lisa, Heidi, Chris (all from Ormond Beach) and Kyle (Tn.). 8 great-grandchildren Wendy, Michael, Britney, Grace, James, Christopher, Brylee and Kaylee. 2 great- great grandsons Kaden and Gage. A visitation will be held 8, 2017 at Tomoka Christian Church from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Ben Brown will officiate. A reception in the Church Café will take place after the service with interment to follow at Volusia Memorial Park, Ormond Beach.
