Obituary: Linton Claude Charran 5th, 1921 \ 25th, 2015 Mr. Linton Claude Charran who was 93 years old, passed away peacefully in his sleep on , 25th, 2015 at his home in Connecticut. Mr. Charran was born on 5th, 1921 in Skeldon, Guyana, South America to Lillian Sudool and John William Charran. Lillian was a businesswoman who sold fruit and vegetables at the local market while John worked as an assistant storekeeper. At age 16, Mr. Charran left school to work as a Maintenance Engineer in the maintenance department at Bookers McConnell in Guyana. In 1952 he went to England to study engineering at Paddington Polytechnic. He worked all day and studied at night; his efforts were rewarded when he obtained a job at Paddington General Hospital then later at John Dale & Sons Limited. He was united in marriage to his soul mate, Oreita Oudella Charran, on 26, 1960. were inseparable for 52 years until her death on 14th, 2012. Mr. Charran moved to the Bronx, NY in 1968 where he worked as a Key Punch Operator for IBM then as a Maintenance Engineer at the Milstein Building for the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital . He worked there from 1970 to year 2000 when he ended his career as the Superintendent of the Year. He retired when he was 78 years old and moved to Deltona, FL. Mr. Charran was a devoted father to his children, Ramon Errol Charran, Allan Keith Charran, Patricia Leela Charran, Paul Linton Claude Charran and Neil Martin William Charran. Being the last of his siblings he is preceded in death by his sister, Arlene "Molly" Debidin, his brother, Patrick Charran, his brother, John Sankar, his sister, Iris Jane Charran, his sister, Mathia Charran and his sister, Bhanmati Mamna Charran. In addition, he leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter-in-law, Elaine Charran; his daughter-in-law, Erin Charran; his daughter-in-law, Iliana Charran; his grandchildren, Mia Charran, Zack Charran, Jordan Charran, Yasmin Charran, Daryl Charran and Persephone Charran; his great-grandchildren Alexander Basdeo, Andre Basdeo, Alana Charran, Sholte Charran, Jaden Spring, Arden Spring and Noah Charran; and a host of nieces, nephews and devoted friends. Mr. Charran was a loving father and husband, a cherished uncle and friend who was loved by all of his family. He is now at peace with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and re-united with the love of his life. He will be truly missed especially at family occasions where he took requests to sing old love songs. The funeral for Mr. Linton Claude Charran will be on , 14th, 2015 with a viewing from 9:30 am \ 11:30 am and a service at noon at All Saints Episcopal Church located at 155 Clark Street, Enterprise, FL 32725. Following the church service he will be laid to rest at the Deltona Memorial located at 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, FL 32763 for the entombment and then we will return to the church for a repast. . |
