Mary is survived by daughter Mary Cates McLeod; brother in law Tommy Cates; sister in law Lovell Combee; her Guardian Angel and sister in law Sharyn Cates, and many nieces and nephews. Mary will be greatly missed by her family and friends and we will always cherish the memories we created with her. Obituary: Jimmy T. Cates 1941-2017 Jimmy Cates, 76, passed away in Pensacola on , 5, 2017. He was born in Andalusia to Bonnie & Jim Cates, who preceded him in death. Mr. Cates retired as a chief petty officer following a 20-year career with the U.S. Navy. his retirement, he moved to Pensacola and worked for Gulf Power until his retirement. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Patricia, one son, Quinten Cates, one daughter, Khelly Cates, a step-daughter, Pam McGeachy, one sister, Nancy Carolyn (Bruce) Maxwell, five grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was a long-time member of Brent Baptist Church. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family at Eastern Gate Memorial on , 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., immediately followed by a service at 12:30 p.m.. The interment will follow at Barrancas National at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Eastern Gate Memorial , Pensacola, FL. |

Obituary: James William Cates, Sr. went to be with the Lord on 23, 2011. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia and his family moved to Bradenton when he was a young boy. Mr. Cates loved the outdoors; he loved fishing and camping. Mr. Cates was a Baptist and retired from the Manatee Highway Department where he served for 35 years as a mechanic and was well respected by his co-workers. He was preceded in death by his mother Harriette Ann Singleton, father Harvey Leon Cates, step-father Elmer (Pop) Langford, sisters Wilma and Ada, and brothers Leon Cates and George Kegg. He is survived by daughters Andre Cates of Port Charlotte, Anita Cates of Ruskin, Alexandria Rudolf Cates of South Carolina, son James Cates, Jr. of Bradenton, sisters Marie Wengerd and Margaret Carter of Bradenton, and brother Morris Cates of Sarasota, seven grandchildren and twenty nieces and nephews, and special friends Kevin Wiley, Luckner Petit and Sam Casimir. He loved and lived for his children and grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 4-6:00 pm, , 1, 2011 at the Oneco First Baptist Church with Services at 6:00 pm at the Church. are under the direction of Manasota Memorial Park and . |

Cates Sr. (Lucy); daughter, Teresa Buday; brother, Buddy Hughes (Faye) of Scottsville, Ky.; seven wonderful grandchildren; 12 fabulous great-grandchildren. A beloved wife, mother, mema, and great-grandmother Elsie was blessed with a family that loves her dearly. She has left beautiful memories, her love will guide us and she will always be in our hearts. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. , 28, 2016 at Hillsboro Memorial .
