Obituary: A Celebration of the Life of Gladys Mae Cashmore 31, 1932 \ 16, 2014 Gladys went home to be with her Lord on , 16, 2014. She was blessed with 80 years of healthy, active living, a keen mind, and a sharp wit. Although the last 18 months were a challenge, we take great comfort in giving thanks for the love and service she gave to her family, and in knowing she is safe in the arms of her Savior. She was born, Gladys Mae Levanue Blackwelder, on 31, 1932 to Jim and Mertie Blackwelder, in Jasper, Florida. She lived in the area in and around Live Oak for most of her childhood with her parents and siblings, Ava Lee, Virginia, Helen, and Leonard. She met the love of her life, Jim Cashmore, in Live Oak, and they were married on 17, 1951. She and Jim were blessed with four children, Steve, Linda, Jeff, and Guy. Following Steves death at age 3, the family relocated to Sarasota in 1957. Gladys spent her entire life loving and caring for her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her passion was telling each of them about Jesus and encouraging them in their faith. She loved cooking and was known in Florida and Texas for making the best homemade lima beans, biscuits, and banana pudding. Her love of family was evident to all who knew her. She was very thankful for the blessings of her daughter-in-law, Viola, and her son-in-law, Matt. She considered Vi another daughter and Matt another son. each loved her and cared for her in sacrificial ways, beautiful examples of the love of Christ. Her family loved her deeply. Her grand children and great grand children were so very special to her. She took great interest in their lives and was always available to listen when they needed to talk. Her wisdom and counsel always pointed them to Christ. Gladys was preceded in death by husband, Jim Cashmore; son, Steve Cashmore; parents, Jim and Mertie Blackwelder; sister, Helen McCourt; and brother, Leonard Blackwelder. She is survived by daughter, Linda Martina, of Houston, Texas; sons, Jeff Cashmore, of Sarasota, Florida, and Guy Cashmore, of North Port, Florida; sisters, Ava Lee Benjamin of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Virginia Cashmore of Live Oak, Florida; as well as grandchildren, Jamie, Justin, Isis, Jeremy, Ashley, Jared, and James Cashmore, and Nick and Mitch Martina; and great grand children, Jeremy, Jenna, and Jade Cashmore, Caleb Cashmore Parsley, Isabella Colby, Jacob Wolfe, and Jaden, Jordan, and Jason Walton. Mom, we will miss you and your unconditional love. We will be apart for a time, but then we will be together again for eternity. Today we celebrate you, and your life, which was blessed with faith, love, and laughter. Obituary: Marion Anna Offer Cashman, age 99 went to sleep in Jesus on 5th. Born in Lawrence, MA she was an extraordinarily talented musician who used her talents to serve the Lord faithfully all of her life. She was a life-long member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. As a teenager she played violin in the orchestra at Bradford Academy in Bradford, MA. She attended Atlantic Union and was asked to conduct the Orchestra. Through the years, in addition to the violin, she learned to play the organ, piano, vibraharp and marimba. In 1950 Marion married the love of her life, Charles F. Cashman. She is survived by step son, Harland( )Cashman; granddaughters, Wendy Swears, Laurie Taggart and Deborah Hample; 6 great grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held , 16th from 12-1p.m. at y Hand Cox-Parker , 1350 West Fairbanks Avenue, Winter Park with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held , Feb. 6th, 2011 at 2p.m. at Orlando Central Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 624 N. Broadway Avenue, Orlando. A lasting legacy was her creation of the Marion A.
