Obituary: Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) John Jerry L. Carter, 84, of Cocoa Beach, Florida died peacefully in his sleep on 6, 2017. John was born 17, 1932, in Santaquin, Utah to the late Donald and Donna (Fowkes) Carter. John and his younger sister, Kathryn were raised by their maternal grandparents after tragically losing their parents at a young age. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1955, before joining the U.S. Air Force. While stationed at Eglin AFB in Florida, he met his first wife and began his family. special training, John was assigned to participate in Operational Test and Evaluation of Short Range Attack Missile program, where he served as Chief, Navigation Division for B-52 operations. This was followed by assignment to the prestigious Strategic Air Command where he served as an Air Operations Navigation Officer in the Aircraft Tactics Branch. many transfers and a tour to Iceland, John retired from active duty in 1982. John received many commendations in his 26-year career with the Air Force. Most notably John was the first member of the U.S. Air Force to launch a short range attack missile (SRAM) from a B-52 during testing operations at White Sands, New Mexico. He worked for a short time as a geologist on well drilling projects, retail store manager, and a condominium maintenance manager before fully retiring and enjoying time with his second wife in Cocoa Beach, Florida. John is survived by his daughters, Sandra, Carol and Rhonda; his sons, Richard and Roger; his stepson Danny; his ten grandchildren; his three step-grandchildren; his three great grandchildren; his beloved sister, Kathryn; his nine nieces and nephews; his first wife (and mother of his children), Alfrieda; and many cousins, extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; second wife Maxine; his step-son Johnny and his brother-in-law, Lynn. The Visitation and Service will be held beginning at 10:00 AM, , 19, 2017 at the Life Event at Florida Memorail, 5950 South U.S. Highway 1, Rockledge FL. A Graveside Service with military honors and burial will follow. Obituary: CARTER- Jack Carter, 88, went home to be with the Lord on 13, 2015. He was born May 27, 1927 in Lake City, FL. He is survived by his wife of 4 years, Wilma Vann Carter; sons, Randy Carter and Mike Carter; daughter Marilyn Carter Whitford; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; one brother, William Carter; and many extended family and friends. high school, Jack attended Kings Point Military Academy and the University of Florida. During college he met Anne Smith, a nurse at Lake Shore Hospital in Lake City. Love at first sight, they married in 1948 and started a 64 year adventure together. set up home in Jacksonville where Jack climbed the corporate ladder at Firestone Tire, but he wanted his own business. He began a career in Real Estate which led to multiple interests in commercial construction, residential developments, and was an active member of the Jacksonville Board of Realtors. His interest in politics led him to the Jacksonville City Council where he served as a councilman during the Consolidation Plan. He also served as a county chairman for the Republican Party and ran for the State House of Representatives. A devoted family man and charter member of Mandarin Lutheran Church, his Celebration of Life will take place , 18 at 10:30am at 11900 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32223. Memorial contributions may be made to his church. Interment will follow at Oaklawn . |

Obituary: John Dudley Carter, age 76 of Clermont, Florida, went to be with his Lord on , 8, after a short illness. He was born in Johnston City, IL on 25, 1936. John is survived by his wife of 45 years, Beverley Krol Carter; his children: Eric Richardson of Clermont, FL, Angelique Byrd of Edwardsville, IL, Lisa Engelke of Worden, IL and Jessica Rodgers of Hamden, CT. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Justin, Ashley, Trevor, Tanner, Fable Jane and River; and his great grandchildren: Adam, Bobbie and Lexi. John graduated in 1954 from Tolleston High School in Gary, IN and also attended Lincoln Bible Institute in Lincoln, IL. John was employed by the National Steel Corporation for 48 years as a Systems Analyst. He enjoyed playing the piano, and was a skilled wood worker who made very beautiful, detailed gifts for his loved ones.
