Obituary: Edwin Lyle Carr, 89, of Crystal River, FL, passed away on , 14, 2017 at his home. A native of Monticello, KY, he was born Aug. 30, 1927 to Welby and Letha (Stailey) Carr, one of seven children. Edwin moved to Citrus 60 years ago from Newcastle, Indiana and was both a retired barber and owner and operator of Maxines Tropical Aquarium. He loved birdwatching and fishing, but his passion was spending time with his family. Mr. Carr was also a former loyal volunteer with Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era and was a member of Disabled American Veterans. Edwin is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Maxine Carr; children Neal and Boyd Carr, both of Crystal River; grandchildren Curtis Neal Carr, Citrus Springs, FL; Christopher Carr, Jr., Lecanto, FL; Samantha Van Dusen (husband Derek), Seattle, WA; Shyla Mattaway (husband Rick), Homosassa, FL; Shara Whitaker (husband Randall), Hernando, FL and Tara Bucko and great grandchildren Maddox, Christopher, Katelin, Tanner, Zachary, Hailey, Ryan, Bradley and Brooke. In addition to his parents, Edwin was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Carr; grandson Joshua Carr and his six siblings; Ralph, Oscar, Weldon, Gladys, Grace and Ruth. Friends will be received on , 17, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Wilder , Homosassa, Fl, where a celebration of Edwins life will take place at 2:00 P.M.
