Obituary: David Alan Callaway died in his home on , 10th, after a hard-fought battle with Leukemia. He grew up playing basketball and surfing in Pompano Beach, FL. His college days were spent on the hallowed grounds of The University of Florida and his passion as a fan never faded. He spent early adulthood falling in love with the beauty and wildlife of Big Sky, Montana where he raised a young family and created wild-life artwork. In 1989, he moved his family to Tallahassee, Florida where he worked for the Department of Transportation, served his church community at KUMC and watched his children grow into adults. David is the most well-known for being the Patriarch of his family. He never let a day go by without telling his family how much he loved them and how proud he was of their accomplishments, big or small. He was a man of God who believed in following Christs example as a servant leader. He repaired homes for families in Gretna, FL, taught marriage classes for young couples, led English language classes for migrant workers in Quincy and helped anyone who needed an extra hand. At work, he believed in spreading a positive attitude and showing kindness to all he encountered. He believed that you should treat every single person with same respect, whether they had a quarter in their pocket or a million dollars in the bank. He is survived by Melanie, his one true love and wife of over 40 years; his children who he loved without fail, Daniel Callaway and his wife Shannon, Caroline Degala and her husband Sarath, Wesley Callaway and his wife Vickery, and his grandchildren who were the lights of his life, Bingham, Pierson, Mae, Cieran, Rhys, Camden and Mia. His family is at peace because he is no longer in pain and is in the arms of Jesus in Heaven. are also saddened by the great hole his death will leave in their lives. services will be held at Killearn United Methodist Church on , 14th, at 10:30am. Obituary: Stephen Joseph Callari, loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle and Friend passed from this life unexpectedly on 14th, 2016, while doing the things he loved at his favorite place on Earth. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Love Callari and parents Salvatore Callari and Carmalina Piccione. He is survived by his children Stephen M. Callari, Scott Callari, Jennifer Gosling, and grandchildren Megan, Eric, Ashley, Christopher, Andrew, Cayleigh, Jeremiah and Robert. His brother-in-law (brother) Robert Sidney Love, his sister-in-law (sister) Judith Maly (Kurt), his brother-in-law (brother) William H. Love (Victoria), his nephews Bob (Laurie), Mike (Kim), Bruce (Tennessee), Tony, and Edwin, and his nieces Leigh (Chris) and Sara (Wafa). Steve was born in Trenton, NJ in 1942. He graduated from Franklin K. Lane high school in New York. Soon thereafter, he moved to N. Ft. Myers, where he watched his three kids grow up. Steve suffered many heart attacks throughout the course of his life but through them he met the love of his life, Marty. Those who knew Steve will always remember him for his dedication and many years working and supporting the Red Cross, his love of travel and story-telling ability about those adventures, the dedication and perseverance that went into the upkeep of his piece of paradise on the Orange River, his insatiable need for his coffee and his inability to get drunk on wine. He had the most infamous laugh that would fill a room, and a love for his family that couldn be measured. But, what could be remembered most was the love that was so evident for his wife. He would always get that sweet twinkle in his eye when he spoke of her. Although, we did not expect to lose him this soon we take comfort in the fact that he touched many lives and will be missed by all that knew him. There is no doubt that Marty is embracing him in Heaven at this moment, anxiously anticipating their next adventure together. His body is healed; His spirit lives; we will miss him greatly. Let Heaven be a little more bright, today. The family will honor and celebrate his life with a Celebration of Life at the Callari residence at 3900 Ellis Road on the beautiful Orange River on , 24th at 12:00 PM. Interment of his ashes shall follow in the wilderness of the property next to the love of his life. To honor Steve in lieu of flowers we ask that a donation be made in his name to the Red Cross. |
