Obituary: Lora S. Cargo of Gardendale, AL passed away at home on , 19, 2015 at the age of 89 after a lengthy illness. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Lora graduated from Mortimer Jordan High School and retired from Hayes International (PEMCO) after many years of service. She enjoyed listening to Sacred Harp music and growing roses in her flower garden. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Flemon F.P. Cargo; parents, Millard and Eva Screws; three brothers, Floyd Screws, Garland Screws, and Travis Screws; three sisters, Estelle Powell, Geneva Jones, and Lexie Screws. Lora is survived by her two sons, Frank Cargo (Frieda) and Glenn Cargo (Penny); her daughter, Ann Cargo; grandchildren, Matthew Cargo, Casey Cargo, James Cargo, Dawn Johnson, and Jackie Phillips; great grandchildren, Brandon Crowder, Gannon Cargo, Ashley Crowder, Brenden Cargo, and Jessica Ferry; great-great grandchild, Alyssa Crowder; and a special cousin, Lida Mullins. Chapel services will be held on , 22nd at Ridouts Gardendale Chapel beginning at 2 PM with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Moncrief in Gardendale. The family would like to thank special friend and caregiver Jennifer Williams for her loving care and attention during this time. |

Obituary: Nella Cargo, 71 of Birmingham, passed away on , 6, 2015. Mrs. Cargo was a graduate of Jacksonville State University, and taught elementary school for 25 years. Over the years, her church activities have included teaching school and singing in the choir. She is a former member of Frazer Memorial Methodist Church in Montgomery, and currently a member of Meadow Brook Baptist Church in Birmingham. Nella loved Alabama football. Mrs. Cargo is preceded in death by her parents, Brice and Mattie Jane Honea. She is survived by her husband, Robert Sherrill Cargo; daughters, Melissa Cargo Hodge and Vickie Cargo Shamblin (Jason); brother, Charles Dwight Honea; sister, Jimmie Ann Chapman; and grandchildren, Hilary Marie Hodge, Harrison Gregory Hodge and Ryan Keller Shamblin. The celebration of Nellas life will be at 3pm on , 8, 2015 at Meadow Brook Baptist Church, with visitation beginning at 1:30pm. The burial will be conducted by Cornerstone at 11am on , 9, 2015 at Fuller in Ider, AL. Obituary: Anniston - services for John W. "Bill" Cargal, 86, of Anniston, will be 1 p.m. , 24, 2011, at Gray Brown-Service with the Rev. Larry Willingham and the Rev. Mike Drummond officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Cargal died at the residence of his daughter, Sandra. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Cargal Blue (John), of Iron City and Carolyn Cargal Hoots (Graham), of Anniston; two sons, Donald W. Cargal Sr., (Deborah), of Oxford and Gary N. Cargal (Kim), of Bremen, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Kevin D. Blue, of Alexandria, Karen Blue Hyde (Jeff), of Heflin, Kalicia Blue Todd (Geoff), of Jacksonville, Karissa Blue Christopher (Wesley), of Iron City, Donald W. "Donny" Cargal Jr., of Oxford, Kaleb O. Cargal and Kirby Cargal, of Bremen, Ga.; six great-grandchildren, Kandace Hyde Howard (Jonathan), Billy Todd, J.J. Hyde, Arika Blue, Ashleigh Todd and Sydney Cargal; one great- great-grandson, Levi T. Howard; three sisters, Martha Rhodes (Calvin), of Alexandria, Gean Bonds and Noami Tucker (Merlin), all of Anniston; one brother, Bobby L. Cargal, of Anniston and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Cargal is preceded in death by his wife, Janie Henderson Cargal; grandson, Darren C. Cargal; parents, Frank and Bessie Cargal; several brothers and sisters. Pallbearers will be Kevin Blue, Jeff Hyde, Geoff Todd, Wesley Christopher, Billy Todd and J.J. Hyde. Mr. Cargal was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun . He retired from Monsanto after 34 years of service. Mr. Cargal was an avid Alabama football and Atlanta Braves fan. He was the best husband, daddy, paw paw and will be greatly missed.
