Obituary: Charles A. Cortese, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family May 28, 2011. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Lena Falletta Cortese and by his in-laws, R.V. and Nina Minnie Dionisio. Survived by his wife, Mary Jane Dionisio Cortese; children, Dr. Anthony (Chris) Cortese and Nina (Ray) Makloski, both of Pueblo, and Toni Cortese of Northglenn, CO; grandchildren, Gianni, Vincenzo, and Genna Cortese, and Jimmy and Raynie Makloski. Also survived by a sister, Jeanette (Stephen K.) Hiza, numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Charles was a 1946 graduate of Central High School and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, when he was a classification specialist, and retired from Texaco, Inc. in 1979 after 28 years of service as Plant Superintendent. He was a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society, the Order Sons of Italy in America, American Legion Post 2, and the Shrine of St. Therese where services will be held: Rosary Recitation 7p.m. and Mass 10 a.m. , with interment to follow at Roselawn . Donations in his memory may be made to the Cabrini Chapter Sons of Italy Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home or to the Shrine of St. Therese. |

Obituary: Samuel J. Corsentino, 96, passed away Nov. 7, 2014. Survived by his children, Mary Beth Corsentino of Pueblo, Joe Corsentino of Denver, Rosemarie (Dave) Shier of Trinidad, Pattyanne Corsentino of Pueblo; brothers, Andy (Betty) Corsentino of Littleton, Jim Corsentino of a, Ga.; sister, Linda Bartolo of Pueblo; grandchildren, Morgan (Jarrett Lavallee) Shier, Darby (PJ Munoz) Shier, Sam Corsentino, Sarah Shier; step-grandchildren, Tory Shier (Tim Ortiz), Brad (Tammy) Shier, Kirstin (Dave) Copeland; nine great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Connie Corsentino on Nov. 8, 2004. Sam was born to Joseph and Josephine Corsentino on Aug. 25, 1918, in Pueblo and was a lifetime Pueblo resident. Sam served in the US Army during WWII. He retired as a foreman at the Pueblo Army Depot. Sam was a successful Pueblo businessman; owning and operating Buckys and Buckys 2. Sam was very active in the Pueblo community; serving three terms on the Pueblo City Council. He was a member of the Pueblo HARP Authority and the HARP Foundation. He served as a member of the City Board and Pueblo Diversified Industries. He was a member of the Columbian Federation of Italian American Societies and member of the American Legion, Post No. 2. Sam loved sports. He refereed regional high school sports for over 30 year. He was director of Runyon Field and later served on their board of directors. Corsentino Field was named in his honor in 2007. He was inducted into the Greater Pueblo Sports Hall of Fame in 1980. Sam was awarded the 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award for the Pueblo Democratic Party. The family wishes to thank the many residents and staff at Life that made his last days so comfortable and filled with love. Visitation from 4-6 p.m. in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Obituary: Ettore Ed Corsaro On the morning of 7, 2016, after a long battle with cancer Ed passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family. Ed was born 21, 1941 in Tripoli, Libya. He retired from the United States Army as a Frist Sergeant. During his time serving his country he spent a tour in Vietnam and various other locations including Germany and the United States. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He received many awards during his service to include: National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal w/3 Bronze Service Stars; Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 device; Valorous Unit Award; Army Occupation Medal; President Unit Citation w/ 1st oak Leaf Cluster; Good Conduct Medal w/ 6th Award; Vietnam Cross Gallantry w/Palm; Army Commendation Medal w/2nd Oak Leaf Cluster; Army service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon (3); Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Ribbon (2); Meritorious Service Medal. Ed is survived by his wife Doris after 50 years of marriage, his son Michael and daughter Cindy. In addition he is survived by his 3 brothers, 1 sister, his dear cousin Anna Finn and family, several nephews and nieces and his very good friends Herb, Pat Guild, and Don Jamison. Ed was a loving husband, father and a dear friend. He enjoyed playing golf with his friends and could often be found playing poker at REA. He loved football and was glad to see his Broncos win the Super Bowl. No services are scheduled. In lieu of flowers please send donation to the American Cancer Society. |
