Obituary: Jean Cook Of Lorado, WV Jean Cook, 79, of Lorado, went to be with the Lord on , 29, 2014, from Logan Regional Medical at Logan, after a long illness. She was born on 26, 1934, in Logan , a daughter of the late Fred and Mable Lowe Cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred Cook, Jr. and Jackie Cook; and two sisters, Mary Adkins and Shirley Lankas. Jean was an employee of the Logan Board of Education for 41 years. Those left to cherish her memory are five children, Pamela (Jody) Albright of Lorado, Connie Edwards of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kim Workman and Haven Marine of Asheboro, NC, Kelly Hubbard of Surveyor, and Jackie Fred Cook of Lorado; one sister, Ruth (Tom) Copley; a very special niece, Rosalyn (Bobby) Beddow; grandchildren, Heidi Crowder, Greg Edwards, Heather Williams, Ashlee Edwards, Kristina Christian, Little Haven Marine, Megan Christian, Jessica Cook, Jackalyn Cook; great-grandchildren, Jaymie Dowdy, Liam Dowdy, Hunter Williams, Carson Williams, Kenzie Marine, Zevie Marine, Briston Marine, Baby Hayven Marine, Tommie Jo Phillips, Grayson Christian, Sadie Rae Harper, and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. services will be held at 1 p.m. , 3, 2014, at the Krantz-McNeely Chapel with Brother Kenny Bevins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to services. Obituary: Marie Cook of Man, WV Marie Cook, 94, of Columbia, MD, formerly of Man, departed from this life on 15, 2015. She was born on 3, 1920 in Yolyn, the daughter of the late Ted and Stella Collins Gannon. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Forrest Cook; one brother, Arthur Gannon, and one sister, Pauline Marshall. Mrs. Cook was a resident of Logan for the first eighty-eight years of her life, before moving to Columbia, MD six and one half years ago. Marie was a member of the Bruce McDonald Memorial United Methodist Church in Man, for the past sixty two years serving in numerous capacities. She graduated from Man High School in the class of 1938 and was a member of the Old Man High School Alumnae Association and was an active member of START while she resided in Man. Mrs. Cook was employed by the Logan Board of Education as financial secretary at Man High School for twenty nine years from 1956 to 1985. retirement she enjoyed playing golf and traveling to see family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Judy Sinkovitz of Columbia, MD; one son, David (JoAnn) Cook, of Crofton, MD; two grandchildren, Andrea Clayton (Jason) of Wheaton, IL and Richie Sinkovitz (Monica Arteaga) of Big Bend National Park, TX; two step grandchildren, Dallas Leither of Atlanta, GA and Laurel Leitner of Arlington, VA; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Kathleen Motes of Little River, SC, Ginny Porter and Gail Younce both of Portsmouth, VA; one brother, Jack Gannon of Oak Hill; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of her life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. , 22, 2015, at the Bruce McDonald Memorial United Methodist Church at Man with Rev. Randy Sites officiating. Burial will follow in the in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior the services at the church.
