Obituary: Helen I. Cogar of Davin, WV Helen I. Cogar, 89, of Davin, departed this life , 28, 2015, at the Logan , after a long illness. She was born 12, 1926, at Swiss, a daughter of the late Morgan Alexander and Hettie Rhodes McClung. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Loren Burton Cogar; eight sisters; and three brothers. Helen was a home maker. A member of the Mallory Church of God, she loved going to church. An excellent cook, Helen enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with them. Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Lowell Burton (Betty) Cogar of Daniels and Noel D. (Janice) Cogar of Davin; one daughter, Pamela (Danny) Gibson of Davin; six grandchildren, Bridgette (John) Moelter of Coral Springs, FL, John (Christina) Cogar of Daniels, Noel (Lori) Cogar, Jr. of Oceana, Amy (Ty) Cook of Combs Addition, Loren R. (Clint) Adkins of Marion, AR, and Megan (Chris) Berry of Elkview; 18 great-grandchildren, Chase Cogar, Brooke Cogar, Anthony Watkins, Hannah Watkins, Christopher Moore, Madelyn Cogar, Joseph Moelter, Samuel Moelter, Benjamin Moelter, Matthew Moelter, Jonathan Totarche; Jordan (Adam) Davis, Justin Cogar, Jaxon Cogar, Baylee Jo Cook, Sydney Adkins, Mia Adkins, Aubrey Berry; and her church family along with a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Sells and the staff of Logan for their care and compassion. services will be held at 1 p.m. , 2, 2015, at the Mallory Church of God with Rev. Shaun Walker and Rev. Johnny Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to services at the church also. Obituary: Dorothy Cogar Dorothy May Cogar, 88, of Fairmont passed away , 25, 2014 at the Arbors at Fairmont . She was born in Prince Georges , MD on May 18, 1926, a daughter of the late Floyd K. Huffman and Ethel (Snyder) Huffman. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Daniel P. Cogar in 2007. Dorothy was a loving homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of Monumental Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and spending time with her loving family. She is survived by her son, Donald Huffman and his wife Sharon of Monumental, a daughter, Joyce Daniels and her husband James of Fairmont, a son, James Cogar and his wife Jennifer May of North Carolina and four grandchildren, Jason Cogar, Brent Huffman and his wife Patricia, Eric Huffman and Lisa Dougherty and her husband Michael, one great grandson, Adam Jacob Huffman and a brother, Floyd Huffman of Maryland. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Danny Cogar, a grandson, Scott Edward Cogar, four brothers, Ovid Huffman, Bertsell Huffman, Marion Huffman and Lawrence Huffman and four sisters, Winnie Seeders, Lillian Roberts, Kate Lee and Pauline Stevanis. Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford , 209 Merchant St. Fairmont on from 1-5 pm and from 11 am – 1 pm. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on , 29, 2014 at 1 pm with Pastor Janice Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Monumental in Marion .
