Obituary: Ruth, 99, passed peacefully in Everett, Washington on 15, 2017. Ruth was born 18, 1918, in River Falls, Wisconsin. She was the middle of 9 children, and grew up on a dairy farm. Some of her family moved to Seattle in 1934, but she stayed behind to graduate school before joining them in 1936. Shortly after, she met the love of her life, Chuck Curtis, and they were married May 10, 1941. did everything together until his passing in 2000. the war, they together opened and operated a series of restaurants. Ruth stayed home to care for their two sons when they were born. The family moved to Kirkland in 1959 where they stayed until moving to Bothell in 1976. Ruth went back to work in 1963 at Washington Credit and remained there until her retirement in 1980. She moved to Bellingham in 2008 and then to Everett in 2013. She and Chuck were active square and round dancers for many years. traveled to many regional and national gatherings. spent time traveling after retirement, mostly around the Pacific Northwest, but also managed a road trip to Alaska and a couple of trips to Hawaii. enjoyed golf and belonged to a Senior League for several years. Ruth spent her spare time tending her garden and cooking and baking in her kitchen. There was always homemade soup and cookies to enjoy at the house! She is preceded in death by her husband Chuck, along with her brother Cliff, and sisters Eve, Meryl, and Bobbie. She is survived by her children Gary (Derrick), Larry (Becky), and grandchildren Aria and Timothy. Her sister Jeanne passed 4 days after Ruth, and 3 younger brothers, Laury, Al (Lynn), and Dell survive along with numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 17856 NW Woodinville Duval Road, Woodinville, WA, on , 30, at 11:00. |

Obituary: Robert Raymond Curtis, Age 83, passed away peacefully with his children at his side on , 20th, 2014. Bob was born on 24th, 1931 in Des Moines, IA to Lee and Helen Curtis. He met his high school sweetheart, LaVonne Joyce, at a dance and knew she was the one-and -only dance partner for him. were married 58 years. Bob and LaVonne loved traveling and dancing on the beaches of the world. spent many years traveling in their motor home in the United States with the Carriage Club members and to Baja California to spend time at their sand lot in Eldorado Estates Resort in San Felipe, BC, Mexico. Bob loved all out-door activities, built his own canoes, and loved canoeing at the Bowron Lakes Chain and Ross Lake. He was active in Boy Scout Troup 24 of Lynnwood. Robert R. Curtis was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Master Mason, member of the Royal Arch Masons, Master Mason of Robert Burns Lodge and a plural Master Mason of Eureka Lodge #20, and a member of the Disciples of Christ church. attending Drake University and Wichita State University, Bob joined the Air National Guard in Iowa. He reached the rank of Corporal by the time he was honorably discharged from the Air National Guard and began his career with Boeing. He was a Production Control Manager in Kansas and Washington State. He spent the the last two years in Pusan, South Korea, completing 39 years with the Boeing . Bob is survived by his sister, Suzanne Keating, his children, Pamela Gilmore, Richard Curtis, Susan Curtis, Rex Curtis, Kenton Curtis; grand children, Mathew Buchheit, Allison Curtis, Kyle Curtis; nieces, Mary K.
