Born May 20, 1936, Pastor Scott grew up on a farm outside Hammon, Oklahoma. He worked for the Bunker Hill Mine in Kellogg, Idaho from 1956 until 1958. In 1965, Scott and his family moved to the Spokane Valley. He worked as the Early Dawn Dairys quality control supervisor until 1974 when his greenhouse business demanded his attention fulltime. The Creach Greenhouse and Plant Farm is a living legacy of the regions rich agricultural heritage located in the heart of Spokane Valley. Most area residents will best remember Scott for his popular radio show, the Plant Farmer, where for the past 30 years he has provided gardening and plant tips to green thumbs across the Inland Northwest. He had a deep love of good earth and a passion for things that grow. Scotts true calling in life was to spread the Gospel message that Jesus saves from sin and makes lives new again. He served as a pastor for over 45 years in Oklahoma, Idaho, and Washington, and started Greenacres Baptist Church in 1971. He helped establish and reestablish churches in Greenacres, Otis Orchards, Spokane, Kellogg, St. Maries, Cheney, and Medical Lake and has supported Christian missionaries scattered throughout the world. Pastor Scotts life, example, and testimony have literally touched multitudes in his many years of service to the Lord and his community. He will be missed greatly by family and friends, and his passing is a tragic loss to the community. His family rejoices with the knowledge that he is at home with the Lord. To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven; a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2. |
