Obituary: Raymond F. Cotton, 71, of Yakima, died Feb. 22, 2016 in Yakima. Ray was born on 23, 1944 in Miles City, Montana to Frank W. and Olivia Marie Cotton. serving in the Navy, Ray moved to Yakima and married Christine C. Feist. He worked for GE Aviation for 42 years before retiring. Ray had a great love for aviation and machinery. He also enjoyed long drives, hanging out with friends and family, going to the mountains, taking pictures, shooting guns and helping people. He was a true angel to many, and never expected a pat on the back or anything in return for helping. A lot of times, he would do things for people and not even tell them he did it. He was stubborn, but generous. He was a very humble person with amazing trait to his character. May he rest in peace; he will be missed by many. Ray is survived by his sons, James W. Cotton and Daniel J. Cotton; his daughter, Betty Alejandro; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Anna May Cotton, ex-wife Christine C. Obituary: 12, 1927 - 22, 2012 Ada Louise was born on 12, 1927, and was the first of nine children born to Harold and Sophia Cotton. She received all of her education in the Los Angeles area, and graduated from Upland in Upland, California with a nursing degree. She then spent the next 50 years taking care of others. She loved to travel, so another trip was always in the planning. The Lord was her personal savior, so her final journey is in his hands. Louise was pre-deceased by her father and mother; her brother Bobby; her sister Carol; her nephews: Gerald; Michael; Marty and Allen; and her niece Cheli. She is survived by her brother Jack and his wife Maureen; and their daughters: Rosemary and Joni; her sister Margaret; and her son Hal; her brother Mel and his daughters: Becky and Linda; her sister and companion Irene; her sister Dee; and her children: Ginger Kay; Clif and Karen; her sister Joy and her husband Larry; and Joys son David. Obituary: Reverend Ken Cotton Sr. age 76, passed away to be with our Lord at his home in Chehalis, Washington on , Jan. 13, 2015. He was born Jan. 27, 1938 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Upon high school graduation he married his beautiful high school sweetheart Linda Brunner on Dec. 6, 1957. Ken Cotton faithfully served his country in the Korean War and was medically discharged for wounds in combat. Coming home from the war, Ken and Linda fulfilled their calling to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ as they traveled the country as evangelists. As their family grew, they settled down in Centralia/Chehalis in 1973 and founded the church Full Gospel Camp Meeting Tabernacle now known as Word of Life Christian . Reverend Cotton faithfully pastored the church and served our local community for 41 years. Reverend Ken Cotton is survived by his lifelong sweetheart, Linda Cotton; sons, Robert Cotton-Whitfield, Kennie Cotton Jr. and Ray Storms; daughter, Kandi Cotton-Hancock; grandsons, Kyler Hall, Luke Hancock and Levi Hancock; granddaughter, Alicia Cotton; and all those at Word of Life Christian . Viewing will be held at Brown Mortuary, Chehalis , Jan.16, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. , Jan. 17, 2015 at Word of Life Christian , 277 Brown Rd. Obituary: Katherine Claire Cotton, Claire to her family and friends, passed away 13, 2017 in Kirkland at the age of 91. She was born 25,1925 in San Francisco,CA. The youngest daughter of Katherine and Bruce Thornton. Claire was raised roller-skating on the hills of San Francisco with her sisters Jean and Carol. Claire was passionate about sports. She was a great competitor, played tennis, skied and loved to watch sports of all kinds. Claire graduated from Presentation Academy High School in 1942. She went onto attend University of California and completed her BA in 1945. Claire began her work life at Standard Oil and spent her free time with friends raising money to build the Alpineers ski lodge near Lake Tahoe. That is where she met the man she would marry, John Cotton (Jack to his friends). A few years later Claire and her husband Jack settled in Bellevue, WA to raise their growing family. Claire was very active in her church. She volunteered her time at all her kids schools and later went on to work in both grief ministry and the catacumenant programs to Sacred Heart Church, Bellevue. The family vacationed all over the west exploring nature in the state and national parks of the western states. Claire and Jack had 62 happy years together before Jacks passing in early 2015. Claire is survived by her children Cathy, John, Tom, James and Michelle as well as 15 grand children 9 great-grand children and 2 great great grand children. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Jack, her daughters Mary, Liz and Laura and her sister Carol. Visiting hours will be held at Sunset Hills in Bellevue 24th from 4-7pm. Services will be held Feb 25th 2017 at 10am, reception immediately following. Burial will be a Sunset Hills at 1pm the same day. In lieu of flowers please consider a gift to goredforwomen.org |

Obituary: Beloved husband and father John Edward Cotton, Jack to his family and friends, passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of 24th 2015 at the age of 90, after a long struggle with Alzheimers. Jack was born 21st 1924 to Harold and Priscilla in Minneapolis Minnesota, where he found his love of ice skating and the outdoors. Jack served his country in the U.S. Army from 1943 \ 1946 in the European Theater in France and Germany. Among his medals earned during his service are the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. On 9th 1951 Jack was happily married to Katherine Claire Thornton. He completed his Bachelors degree, Masters degree and spent 29 years as a Research Chemist for Boeing Airplane after receiving his Doctorate of Philosophy in Chemistry from the University of Oregon. His free-time was spent with family and friends camping and hiking in the beautiful National parks of the country he loved and photographing them all. He was preceded in death by his brother James, his sister Barbara and his daughters Elizabeth and Mary. He is survived by Claire, his wife of 63 years, 6 children, 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and his brother Randy. Harty was the Chairman for Sedona & Verde Valley Mental Clinic Thrift Shops. She was a Girl Scout Leader & supported 4-H. She later married Richard Cotton. Harty had great energy & forged ahead in the face of any adversity. She always found a way, opening her heart & home to those in need. She nurtured wonderful friendships with many unique, pioneering and progressive thinkers. Harty instilled her impeccable sense of fashion, style and good manners in her family. She was beautiful & strong and lived with great integrity. She brought love & many treasured memories to the lives of those she touched. For the last 9 years, Harty resided in Washington state where she passed away peacefully on 18, 2015.
