Obituary: Martela Enoie Coffman, 86, passed away in the evening of 26th, a significant date, as it been the birthday of her beloved husband who had preceded her in death in 2001. She was born on 23rd, 1928 in Overton , Tennessee to George Franklin Hammock and Louvena Etter Hammock. Her father passed away when she was just six months old and her mother remarried a man named William Hawkins and after he passed away fifteen years later she remarried again, this time to Elbert Neely. Martela was quite fond of Mr. Neely and always spoke of him with great kindness. When she was just 16 years old she met the love of her life, Willie Coffman, when he was home on leave from the military. The two fell in love and married shortly after on 15th, 1945. Soon they were expecting their first child, but their hearts were broken when the child was stillborn. The next year they were expecting again and this time they had Deborah Paulette and then Roderick Erwin and Ralph Lewis in subsequent years. During this time Willie and Martela moved from Tennessee to Michigan so Willie could pursue work in the booming automobile industry and during that time Martela worked as a short order cook, going by the nickname Marty and later she worked making custom drapery. When their children were grown, Willie and Martela decided to move out west to Washington where their daughter, Debbie had moved with her husband, Rod and soon after Roderick moved there as well with his wife Christine, while Ralph and his wife, Kathie remained in Michigan. Willie and Martela remained in Washington until their final days enjoying what they loved most, their family. Martela who was known to family and friends as Enoie was a wonderful cook and baker and loved to crochet and quilt. Her smile, her laughter and her love will live on in the minds and hearts of all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Coffman in 2001, her stillborn son, Gary Mitchell Coffman in 1946 and her daughter, Deborah Paulette Meade in 2012. She is survived by her sons, her childrens spouses, her six grandchildren, ten great grand children and one great great grandchild. A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Luther Pendleton will be held , 4, 2015 at 11am graveside at Claquato 142 Stearns Road, Chehalis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Susan G Komen Foundation or the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Foundation in Martelas name. |

Obituary: Lorraine Alice Coffman of Snohomish, WA passed away on 13, 2015. Lorraine was born on 31, 1930 to Jack and Mary Degenstein in Orrin, North Dakota. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Gerald; sons David (Suzanne), Perry, Shanin (Kim), and daughter Becky (Harry) Thimm; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sister Marion Brown, and several nieces and nephews. Lorraine graduated from high school in Harvey, North Dakota and came to the Snohomish area in 1949 where she worked in the restaurant industry. She married John ONeill and had two children. She later married Jerry Coffman and continued to grow her family. She developed a love of antiques and worked trying to spread her love and education of them throughout her life. She loved to decorate and show off her beautiful home and was renowned for her German potato salad. She loved her family and friends and will be greatly missed. Her services will be , 11:00 21st at St. Michael Catholic Church in Snohomish. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Michael Catholic School in Snohomish. |
