Obituary: Joseph Henry Coenen was born on 11, 1950, to Henry and Dorothy (Gross) Coenen in Harlan, Iowa. Joe grew up in Woodbine and graduated from Woodbine High School in 1968. He worked as an X-ray tech at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha. Joe joined the U.S. Army and served his country for four years. Joes honorable discharge he moved to Portland, Oregon and worked as an X-ray Tech and then later as a business analyst for Blue Cross Blue Shield. Joe and his partner, Rich, owned and operated the Beaumont Grocery Store in Portland. selling the grocery store, Joe and Rich moved to Arizona. moved to Vancouver, Washington a year ago and Joe became a resident of the Glenwood Place . Joe enjoyed collecting giraffes; he also loved to travel and sightsee. Joe enjoyed working out at the gym and he loved his beloved dog, Cassie. Joe always enjoyed coming back home to Woodbine to visit with family and friends. Joe died , 4, 2016, at the Glenwood Place in Vancouver at the age of 65 years, eight months and 24 days. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Henry Coenen. He is survived by his partner of 37 years, Rich Johnston of Vancouver, Washington; mother, Dorothy Coenen of Woodbine, Iowa; two brothers, Father Thomas Coenen of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Gary Coenen and his significant other Juli Michel of Woodbine, Iowa; two sisters, Mary and her husband Todd Heistand of Woodbine, Iowa and Jackie and her husband Scott Clark of Pisgah, Iowa. He was also loved by many nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. |

Obituary: Irene Margaret Coen (Adams) was born in Hecla, South Dakota on 10, 1919 and passed away in Vancouver, Washington on 12, 2010. Irene grew up in Minnesota. She enjoyed her family, friends and her church. She was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included oil painting, crafts, flowers, GMas Club and playing cards with retired school bus drivers. Irene was preceded in death by her Husband; Boyd in 1988 and her Daughter; Kathleen in 2000. Irene is survived by her Son; Richard Coen of Reno, Nevada, her Daughter; Joy Schultz of Vancouver, Washington, 9 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandson. A Service for Irene will be held , 20, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Vancouver Chapel. Interment will be held , 20, 2010, at 3:00 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran .
