Obituary: Gemella Beverly Clausing passed away , 25, 2010, at the Apple Creek Adult Family in Yakima, after only a few weeks away from her beloved family farm in West Valley. Gemella was born on the farm 22, 1918 to Asa and Beatrice (Cole) Scott and she lived in the Yakima Valley her entire life. Gemella married the love of her life, Leland M. Clausing on 6, 1938 and they were inseparable for over 69 years, until his death in 2007. During that time, the couple had 3 children, Douglas Clausing (Barbara), Janet Clark and Ted Clausing (Deborah). Gemella is also survived by 7 grandchildren (Chris Clausing, Johnny Clark, Suzanne Snyder, Russell Clausing, Laura Wortman, Zac Clausing and Natalie Clausing) and 5 great-grandchildren (Krista Clausing, Shelby Woods, Logan Clark, Peyton Clark, Alexandria Wortman). Gemella often listed her occupation as housewife, but that was an understatement. She and Leland always worked as a team and in addition to building their home and family and their farming ventures with alfalfa, grain, sheep, cattle, Shetland ponies, and POA ponies, they also owned and operated Walker Parts and Service, Lee Clausing Service, the Ahtanum Drive In, the Airplane Cabins, several rental houses and the Clausing Pony Farm. One of her favorite sayings was we didn make much money, but we always had lots of fun. She was also the primary care giver for Dad after he had a series of strokes during their last 15 years together. Gemella gave her love and time to her children and grandchildren and we could not have asked for a more wonderful mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. She was always ready for any adventure, whether it was as simple as a walk down to the creek and nut grove with the grandchildren, camping, or planning her many trips. Leland and Gemella loved visiting relatives in Wisconsin and California, and had many adventures on their trips to Baltimore, Alaska, and her beloved Pacific beaches. Her blessing in our lives will endure through the love she showed and lessons she taught us all. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. 30th at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. The will be at noon May 1, 2010 at the Wiley Union Church, with burial at West Hills Memorial Park. Obituary: Patricia Ann Clausen, 77, went to be with her Lord on , 11 at Good Samaritan. She was born 16, 1933 in Yakima, WA to Xenophon and Marie Merriam. Patty attended Yakima schools and graduated from Yakima High in 1951. She briefly attended Yakima Valley before beginning what would be her life-long vocation as a skilled secretary. She worked for James Shrader accounting firm where she met and later married Gerald S. Clausen. From there the family, which now also included her daughter Capri, moved to Seattle, WA where she worked in Admissions for the University of Washington and became a true Huskey fan! Jerrys work took them to Hillsboro, OR where Patty had one of her most interesting jobs working for the Oregon Primate . But Yakima called and the family moved for the last time back to central Washington. It was then that she was hired to work for United Builders. She was the head secretary there and proudly served them for over 30 years. The people there were not just co-workers, they were like family, especially after Jerrys death in 1982. Patty was also a long time member of First Presbyterian Church and an active member of the Golden Circle Class and loved attending Koffee Klatch events. For many years she could be found taking care of the babies during the MOPS meetings. Patty had many interests but three stood out above the rest. Her love of gardening was evident to all who walked around her beautiful yard. She also loved sports of all kinds. You could call on her any time of day and there would be a good chance she would be watching some team on TV. But without a doubt she loved watching her daughter, and later her grandchildren, play the sports she only dreamed of doing as a young girl. It didn matter if it was on a basketball court or soccer pitch she was there rain or shine! Patty is survived by her daughter Capri (Jim) Fannin of Yakima and their children Taylor and Parker, step-daughter Kathy Clausen (Mark Snelson) of Indianapolis, IN and their children Laurel (Damion) of Australia and Alec of Bloomington, IN. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Ed Merriam as well as husband Gerald Clausen. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., , 16, 2011 at Keith and Keith . Graveside service will be 11:30 a.m., , 17th at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. A Memorial Celebrating her life will follow at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church. Obituary: Mildred Marie Clausen age 88, passed away 23, 2016 from complications of cancer, at the Fairfield , in Fairfield, Washington. She enjoyed crocheting and teaching people how to crochet. Her beautiful afghans and doilies can be seen in most of her friends and families homes. She had a passion for horseback riding and shared that passion with her children. Of her hobbies, she enjoyed traveling with Wayne, her husband of 63 years, the most. shared many great adventures driving dealer traded cars around the country for their friend, Gary Anderberg, Anderberg Chevrolet. Born 28, 1927 on the family farm near Fairfield, Washington she spent her entire life immersed in farming and in support of the lifestyle farming gave her. She loved life and was proud of the life she had made with her lifelong love, Wayne. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, father Hans Madsen, and mother Sadie (Yokum) Madsen. She is survived by: her son, Ken (Ida) Clausen, daughter, Jordan, and daughter, Julie (Mike) Himmelberger, grandson, Jeremy (Leah) Clausen and his daughters (great-grandchildren) Olivia and Sophia Clausen, grandson, Jason Clausen, granddaughter, Becky (Tyler) Rounds and their children Austin, Carter and Taelyn, granddaughter Katie (James) Brown and their children Aurora and Jack, her sister, Helen (Art) Grewe, and brother Larry (Bev) Madsen. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Our family wishes to thank the staff at the Fairfield for the excellent care they gave Mildred during this time. Mildred was loved for being outgoing and ready to help in any way she could. She will be deeply grieved for by anyone whom she ever met.
