Obituary: Brother James Chu was born on 28th, 1916 in Penang, Malaysia. His parents were from Toi Shen, Canton. He was educated in Catholic schools when he was young, and after high-school graduation at age 17, he went abroad to study at the University of Hong Kong. He later transferred to the Ling Nan University of China. He received a national award as Chinas most promising young scientist. obtaining his graduate degree from the Ling Nan University, he stayed on in their faculty and taught physics and mathematics. At the end of WWII, he moved to HK and started an import and export business with friends. He married with Anna Chu in 1950. Anna grew up in a devout Christian home. Soon after, James was baptized into the Lord Jesus. James and Anna have three children, two daughters and one son. all received a fine education in HK, and accepted the Lord as their personal Savior. The children came to Seattle respectively for their college education, and James and Anna also settled down in Seattle with their children in 1976. joined the Seattle Chinese Alliance Church as members in 1984. Both started serving in the church as School teachers for the adults. James had always been physically healthy until two years ago. Although he had much difficulty moving around, he continued to serve God in teaching School and serving in the Caleb Fellowship which he helped started twenty years ago. James would not miss any opportunities to fellowship with brothers and sisters in the church. He also served as a deacon in the church for one year in 1990. James was very dedicated and loving towards his family. He loved his wife and children. He was a truly wonderful husband and father. He loved his Lord Jesus even more. He loved Gods words, and spent most of his time at home studying the Bible, and praying to God. James health deteriorated rapidly in these past few months. He was hospitalized for one week and returned home a week ago. On May 7th, at 3:30am, James laid down his earthly burdens at the age of 94. He went to meet his Lord, full of Gods grace and mercy. James is survived by wife-Anna, children-Bonnie, James and Grace, Daughter-in-law-Grace, Son-in-law-John, and three granddaughters-Stephanie, Tiffanie and Rachel. under the direction of Sunset Hills , Bellevue, WA. |

Obituary: Floyd Raphael Chrusoskie was called by his Lord and Savior on May 7, 2015 to lend his strong Bass voice to the Heavenly Choir. Born 23, 1921 in LaGrande, Oregon to Barnaby and Vivian Chrusoskie, he was the oldest of five children. He attended all 12 years of school in LaGrande , graduating with the class of 1940. He attended Eastern Oregon for a short period of time while working as an orderly at Grande Ronde Hospital in LaGrande, where at age 14 he had spent 6 months in a coma from complications of mastoiditis. At the encouragement of his father who was a railroad engineer he applied to be a telegrapher for the Union Pacific Railroad and worked as a relief operator in Lime, Huntington, & Meacham before taking a permanent position as third trick operator in Arlington, Oregon. He was a life-long musician, playing along with his father to the radio on the guitar or violin. His mother was also a talented pianist. He and his sister Lorraine spent many days playing with their parents as entertainment for many. He never wanted to take credit for his many musical talents but if there was music he was participating playing the Jews harp, harmonica, violin, mandolin, accordion, banjo or guitar. He also was a talented vocalist. He practiced tirelessly until his last days, leading the weekly sing-a-long at Olympics West. In 1958 he married Velma Marcum in Arlington Oregon, gaining an instant family with her two daughters, Susan and Barbara. He was the best dad and took on the job of raising two children as if they were his own. In 1972 CTC came to Arlington and he moved to The Dalles, selling the home that he had built with his loving hands and leaving behind the beautiful yard that he had carved out of the sagebrush and sand. He a talent for making anything grow and it was evident in his beautiful yards and bountiful gardens at all their homes. In 1976 he transferred to Tumwater with the railroad, working until mandatory retirement at age 62 in 1983. He enjoyed many activities in his retirement and received many awards for his volunteer work. He was instrumental in starting the Tumwater Senior Choir, was voted Senior Volunteer for Tumwater, 2002. He tirelessly served his faith by delivering Communion to the residents of both Olympics West and Hamptons Alzheimers weekly. Also lead the weekly Rosary for the residence or any other task that made a joyful noise unto the lord, such as leading service on occasion or hymn sing-a-long. In 2001 he and Velma moved into Olympics West, his home for the next 14 years. He never knew a stranger and soon learned the name of every resident and participated in almost every activity available. He was always a ready hand to take others to needed appointments or church. Velma passed away in of 2002. He soon found a friend in Bernice Schlosser and they enjoyed many fun times together until her passing. Soon again he found a kindred spirit in Jeanne Rensel, a talented pianist and fun companion. enjoyed trips to Hawaii and other places with her loving family who took him in as their adopted dad. He was preceded in death by his wife Velma, his sister, Mary Francis Lorraine, his brother, Gerald Chrusoskie and his brother, Everett Chrusoskie. He is survived by his sister Edith Tucker of LaGrande, Oregon step daughters, Barbara Parker Wells of Lake Oswego, Oregon and husband Alan and Susan Babcock of Prosser, Washington and husband Gary. Grandchildren, Brett Parker, Garth Parker, Allison Johnson, Erica Byers, Kenna Hazzard, Ian Babcock and their spouses. Great grandchildren, Brandt and Asher Johnson, Keagan, Corin, Meara and Asa Byers, Ryker, Titus and Sterling Hazzard. Floyd was an emissary on earth for his Lord and saw his calling as caregiver to all. Whether assisting, entertaining, sharing times of joy or sadness his greatest pleasure was doing for others. Floyd was loved, cherished and respected by all he knew and met. As the greatest tribute to his life, and in his memory, do something kind for others and live life with a joyful heart. |
