Obituary: The courageously beautiful, no-nonsense, knockout fighter as we all know her by has finally decided to take off her pink boxing gloves and place them to rest. She has taken on a new, more exciting and greater adventure! She began her journey at the young age of 62, leaving Yakima, WA on the date of 6, 2015. While on her journey, she knows she will be greatly missed by everyone and anyone who was blessed to cross her path, unless it was crossed the wrong way that is. If that's the case, I'm sure it wasn't a blessing wanted, as her gloves were pretty BIG, though her heart outweighed those gloves by far! However, she made certain to reassure us before she left for her journey that her new adventure is guaranteed to consist of daily things like dancing freely, singing loudly, laughing uncontrollably, and beautifully bright colored landscaping complete with peace and so much more. I'd like to touch on a few great facts some may not know about our hero fighter Susie Q (aka) Nana, mom, wife, auntie, sister, cousin, etc. (too many aliases to name really). Sure your ready for this?? Ok well here we go... It all began in the early 1900's when a young man by the name of Howard Wesley Rex gave a young woman by the name of Jean Esther Foreman a beautiful gift: his heart! One rainy late afternoon on 28th, 1953 in Seattle, WA a greater gift was given to the world. named her Suzan Ann Rex...which later became OUR hearts! This is where her first adventure began. She grew up in the Seattle area with her four siblings, having a blast with many amazing stories to share. The almost Brady Bunch starts with "her rock" and oldest brother Ronald (Ron) Rex, oldest sister Sharon Harralston, BFF and baby sister Sally Rinas-Hair of New Mexico, and ends with her lil brother Michael and Karen Rex of Selah, WA. She joined her mother Jean and father Howard Rex along with her brother Ron and sister Sharon in her journey as they had already been enjoying it before she could get there. Oh man we can only imagine the ruckus they are making while together. Go team Rex!! As her family we are overwhelmed with great happiness knowing she did not take this adventure on alone and is welcomed with open arms! A few years after she graduated in 1972, she married into the military and traveled to many beautiful states and countries, blessing all she encountered along the way. Three kids later in 1989, she made her way back to Washington, finally planting her roots in Yakima in 1990 to raise those three adorable children as the most loving, understanding, supportive, hardworking single mother possible. She succeeded with all of this and then some. In 1991 her life changed as she was robbed that year by the man who stole her heart and still has it to this day. That same year she became a certified travel agent and later received a degree in business in 1998. In 2002 she put on her boxing gloves for the first time and soon realized she was a great fighter while kicking cancers greedy (in laymans terms) butt! And continued to fight! She will be greatly missed during her time of absence by many crazies: her main squeeze of 24 years Donald (Don) Catron of Yakima, her control freak and oldest daughter Carmen McClintock of Yakima, her middle child syndrome second daughter with great addition Carrie McClintock and Anthony Acob also of Yakima, and her, well we'll leave this one alone, baby boy and son with better half Chad and Jag McClintock of Grants Pass, OR. She is also a step monster to two ornery step children, the head running wild stepson and wifey Nick and Kenesha Catron of Renton, and nutty stepdaughter with husband Angela and Cory Edmark of Selah, Oh and let's not forget her adopted (in other words) son and wife Michael and Jenn Emerson of Kentucky, and her abundance of friends around the globe. She's never gone a day without wanting to pull her hair out or lock herself in the bathroom (if only she didn't lose the key to get out) not only due to having her very own almost Brady Bunch but the added bonus of 18 over the hedge grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews though she can't go a single day without having them, some or all, around to drive her to madness while in complete happiness. See, she loves her family to the moon and back even though it is chaotic when we are all gathered in one house. The bigger the family the more there is to love, have to fight for, and have to support one another. Yes ma'am she is on point with this! If called upon by anyone, whether it is for help with anything (including cleaning puck), to get simple advice (even if she has no clue), or just to talk, she drops everything, and at that point in time you become the most important person to her. And when she tells a joke there is a guaranteed three time contagious laughing spurt: once when she tells it because nobody understands her joke, second when she laughs at her own joke and we laugh with because she's the only one that really understand it, and third is when she laughs harder because she thinks we finally got it! Her smile and laughter can draw anyone in. say the kitchen is the heart of a home but in ours, the heart of the home has always been her! Mom had a long time love affair with Mickey Mouse, Reeses peanut butter cups, Seattle Mariners, extended camping trips and sewing before venturing off on her great journey. Hopefully they have T.V. with a sports channel continued... |

Obituary: Charles Ellis Catron was the second of three generations to carry the Ellis name. Charles known to all as Chuck was born and lived most his life in Yakima, WA, where he spent the last thirteen years on his West Valley countryside property. Best known for his generous nature and dry sense of humor, his heart and smile will be forever missed and unrivaled. Chuck was happiest outdoors with his four legged companion by his side. He had a passion for the study of science and horticulture but his true love was gemology. He spent hours on rock hunts and hikes the brought three generations of Catron man together in a common goal to find the next gem. As a jack of all trades he wore many hats and never met a machine he couldn't master. With these skills he made a living most his life and taught for a short time at Perry Tech. He shared his hobbies with his children and grandchildren including NASCAR. With a life long fallowing of NASCAR and countless weekends at the local track and drag strip his love for the automobile was contagious when around him. As a young Marine he absorbed a love of his country and a value system he lived by all his life. Chuck was survived by his son Shawn Ellis Catron and wife Mandy his four Grandsons Ryan, Colby, Jeramey, and Marshal, his daughter Crystaline Rossetta Catron, and his sisters Connie Catron, Bobbie catron, Ritta Taylor, and Lorie Young. We love you Chuck! Please say hi to Grandma for us. |
