Obituary: Dorothy Louise Loomis Carter of Yakima, Washington, passed away 7, 2016 at the age of 90. Dorothy was born in Bucoda, Washington 1, 1926 to Bennett Ellis and Aile Suzanna Loomis. Dorothy grew up around the Toppenish area where she met Karl McKee Carter and they became sweethearts when she was in Junior High and through High School. married after she graduated, 21, 1944. lived in Pasco, Washington for several years while the kids were growing up, then relocated to Lynwood, Washington where they both worked for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints until they retired. then moved to Yakima, Washington around 1989/90 and have lived there up to the time of her passing. Karl and Dorothy were married 66 years at the time of her husbands passing in 2011 Karl and Dorothy have six children Clayton (Jean), Sharon (Michael O'Berry), Dan (Janean), Fred (Shari), Curt (Peggy), Randy (Leanne). Dorothy loved gardening, her dogs and her grandchildren and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Dorothy is survived by her only sister Wanda Orr of Vancouver, Washington and her six children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be Noon to 5:00 p.m. 12, 2016 at Keith & Keith . A Graveside Service will be 10:00 a.m. 13th at West Hills Memorial Park. Obituary: Dorothy Nealson Carter, 90, passed away on 6, 2016 in Yakima, WA. She was born on 26, 1925 in Lucerne, MO to A.D. and Jessie E. (Galloway) Hamilton. Nealson was raised in Putnam and educated in a one room School house and attended Unionville High School. She went on to marry the love of her life Lee Carter. have celebrated 73 wonderful years together. The family farmed for many years in Missouri before relocating to the Yakima Valley in 1958. Nealson worked a little time outside her home at various Yakima businesses which included Baileys Jean , Country Store and Newberrys. She had a talent for sewing wedding dresses, baking wedding cakes, cooking excellent meals and could stretch a dollar to provide for all the familys needs. Every family member has a quilt, afghan, garment or Christmas ornament made by her with love. She loved traveling to Missouri to visit family and spending the winters in Arizona. We will miss her sweet spirit and her wisdom with dealing with lifes issues. She is survived by her loving husband Lee; daughters Kathryn Morris, Joyce (Ron) Schillaci and Lois (James) Johnson; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sister Joy Howard; brother-in-law Clark (Arabelle) Carter; sister-in-law (J. Lee) Klinginsmith and numerous nieces and nephews. Nealson was preceded in death by her parents, brother Carl Hamilton and brother-in-law Carl Howard. A memorial service will be held at 10:30am, , 20, 2016 at the Open Heart Baptist Church (Selah Heights Grange), 2040 McGonagle Rd, Selah, WA 98942. Obituary: Dora (Axtell) Carter was born 1, 1915 in Yacolt, WA and passed away in Marysville, WA on 24, 2010 at age 94. She grew up in Columbia City, OR and moved to Seattle, WA, where she graduated from Garfield High School in 1935. In 1940, Dora married Charles Carter and they had two daughters, Charleen (Jackie) and Judy. Dora was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary for almost 70 years, as well as the drill team, and several bowling leagues throughout the Seattle area. She also volunteered for the Veterans Hospital in Seattle. Dora lived in the same house in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle for 62 years until she moved to the Village at Granite Falls in 2002. Dora is survived by her daughters, Charleen (Pat) Mendenhall, Judy Byron, and their special friend, Marianne (Doug) Knight; grandchildren, Diana (Jody) Reeves, Bill, Dennis, and Mark Peterson, Lisa Wolfe, Jody (Jamie) Hillery, Christy Byron, and Jenny (John) Gillett; step-grandchildren, Pat, Kelly (Lynnette), and Debbie Mendenhall; and also considered grandchildren, Shawn Merritt and Ray Bullock. Along with this extended family, she also leaves behind 18 1/2 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and many others who called her grandma. She is also survived by her brother, Carl (Charlotte) Sigler; and sister, Pat (Kent) Hamrick. Preceding her in death are, her former husband, Charles Carter; her parents, Bertha Sigler and Louie Axtell; siblings, Bea and Al; and her son-in-law, Harry Byron. The family would like to thank Helen Dominte from Paradise Adult Family for the love and care she has provided for the last year, as well as, Dr. Whiteley and the Group Hospice team. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on 10, at Granite Falls American Legion . under the direction of Weller , Arlington, WA. |
