Obituary: Mildred E. Crytzer, 92, passed away on 11, 2017. She was born in Ford City, PA to the late Edith L. and Alvin J. Campbell, Jr. Mildred was a housewife most of her life. her children moved from home, she enjoyed working in claims for an insurance company for several years. Mildred also enjoyed traveling, camping, bowling, and working in the garden. She was an excellent cook and baker. Mildred was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Ira C. Crytzer, Jr.; brother, Norman Campbell and sister, Gwendolyn Livengood. Obituary: Dr. John M. Cryder passed away at his home, in Mt. Sidney, on 2, 2013 at the age of 68 after an extended battle with Alzheimers disease. Dr. Cryder was born on 20, 1945 in Knoxville, TN, a son of John H. Cryder and the late Dorothy Schrader Cryder. He was a professor of music at James Madison University for 27 years where he was the French Horn professor and sound engineer for the Madisonians. He trained many students in the art of sound engineering - several of whom are now in the recording business. He played in the JMU faculty brass quintet and woodwind quintet as well as the Roanoke Symphony for many years. John received his bachelor and masters degrees from the University of Iowa and his doctorate in music performance from the Catholic University of America. He was a member of the United States Marine Band, in Washington D.C. (the Presidents own) and played in the Marine Band orchestra at the White House. John grew up in Plainfield, Illinois and attended Plainfield High School where he played in the Plainfield High School band. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Cryder; father, John H. Cryder of Plainfield, IL; two sisters, Diane Spandet and her husband, Fred, of Lake Villa, IL, and Linda Prosser of Chehalis, WA, and her late husband, John; and one brother, Sam Cryder and his wife, Nancy, of Plainfield, IL. John will be cremated and a memorial service will be held on , 6th, 2013 at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Lindsey in Weyers Cave with Mr. Christopher Knoedler officiating. Obituary: Mrs. Teresa Escota Cruz, age 98 passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter , 16, 2015. Teresa was born 1, 1917 in the Philippines to the late Victoriano Cruz and Valentina Escota Quadra. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eufronio Surban, sister Wilfreda Sistoza, brother Rafael Quadra and son Dominador (Totoy) Surban. Teresa was raised in Maui, HI by her mother and stepfather, Mariano Quadra where she developed her strong work ethic and feisty personality. People were drawn to Teresas beauty both inside and out and she was twice named Miss Philippines of Hawaii. She returned to the Philippines at 18 years of age. During her time in the Philippines, she married the love of her life, Eufronio Surban. Eufronios passing in 1948, Teresa started working at Assandas department store as a department manager and quickly moved up to Human Resource Director while raising her children, Totoy and Bessie. Teresa came to the United States in 1982 where her engaging personality and quick wit was adored by all. She helped raise her grandsons, Vincent and Brian with love and tsinelas (slipper). Teresa was known for her ready smile, speaking her mind and the love she had for her family and friends. She was a wonderful cook always had a full table. During family parties and senior center activities, she entertained all with her Hawaiian songs and hula dancing. Every time you drink a cup of coffee, you can still hear Lola Teresa say The Best in the West! Teresa is survived by her devoted daughter and son -in-law Priscilla (Bessie) and Elwood Guzman, adoring grandchildren Vincent & Kathleen Guzman and Brian & Ryan Guzman, precious great grandchildren Vincent, Oliver, Gabrielle, Adrianna, Marriah, Nicholas and Claire. The Cruz/Guzman family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. both on , 22, 2015 and again on , 23, 2015 at the Demaine , 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA 22151.
