Obituary: Mark Edward Crooks, 54, passed away at home on , 15, 2010. Mr. Crooks was a retired and decorated US Army Veteran, a member of the local Col. Fielding Lewis Chapter, Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, a leader in the National Area Capital Chapter of the Boy Scouts of America, Alumni of the Citadels, South Carolina Corps of Cadets, and a long time member of Mount Ararat Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Patricia and two children, Jessica Francis and Jared Crooks all of Stafford; father, Eugene and stepmother Erin Crooks of Montgomery, AL; brother, Richard Crooks and sister, Sharon Reed both of Prattville, AL; and grandson Caleb Francis. He is predeceased by his mother Ruth Lotshaw Crooks. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on , 20, 2010 at Mullins & Thompson Service, Stafford Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on , 21, 2010 at Mount Ararat Baptist Church. Interment will be in Arlington National at a later date. Obituary: Virginia Beach - Martin N. Crook, 90, went to be with his Lord and Savior on 18, 2010 and was re-united with his loving wife, Flora, of 67 years in their heavenly home. He was born in Conway, Arkansas on 24, 1919. Martin served his country in the United States Army during World War II and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He later served with the Veterans Administration as a chief financial officer for 35 years. Martin was very active in his church and found great joy in serving his Lord. He was presently a member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Martin Nelson Crook, Jr. (Lynne), of Collierville, TN and daughter, Barbara Gail Neal, (Terry), of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, David Crook (Cheri), Bangkok, Thailand, Jonathan Crook, of Los Angeles, CA, CPL Kevin Crook in Afghanistan, Kimberly Mallory (John), of Virginia Beach, Angela Walters (Josh) of Virginia Beach, and Gregory Neal (Catherine) of Virginia Beach; great grandchildren, Noah and Sydney Crook, Mathew and Ryan Mallory, Kelley and Kara Walters and Caleb and Ashley Neal. The family will receive friends evening from 7 - 8:30 PM in Rosewood-Kellum in Virginia Beach. A celebration of life will be held on at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with burial to follow in Rosewood Memorial Park with military honors.
