Obituary: Lorraine Bernier Copan passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on , 27, 2016, following a courageous year long battle with cancer. Born in Fall River, MA on 16, 1921 she was the youngest of seven children born to Antoine Bernier and Rosanna Ruel. During and following World War II, she was employed by the Coca-Cola Bottling of Fall River. She worked there for ten years as an office manager and payroll administrator. She then moved to Washington, DC in the early 1950s and began a career with the Central Intelligence Agency, retiring after twenty-five years serving in various locations and capacities. She is predeceased by her parents and siblings: Antoine, Joseph, Florence, Armand, Henri, and Julienne. She is survived by her son, William D. Copan, Jr., of Williamsburg, his wife, Lauralyn, and their daughter Laura, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Bede Catholic Church 3686 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188, on 7, 2016 at 9 a.m. with interment to follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, any expressions of sympathy be directed to Walsh University for the Rosanna and Henri Bernier Scholarship Fund, c/o Carl Musille, Director of Development, 2020 East Maple Street, North Canton, Ohio 44720, or to Hospice House and Support of Williamsburg, 4445 Powhatan Parkway, Williamsburg, VA 23188, or another favorite charity. The family would like to recognize and thank Lorraines outstanding team of caregivers, Dr. David Hundt, Dr. Bruce Booth and staff at Virginia Oncology Associates, Dr. Kenneth Adams of Colonial Gastroenterology Associates, Brenda Stout and staff at Hospice House, and management and staff at Spring Arbor of Williamsburg.
