Obituary: Frances Mae Lipscomb Cheatham, 84, of Lynchburg passed away , 14, 2015, at her residence. She was the wife of Albert Marshall Cheatham. Born 30, 1930, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Lorenso Lipscomb and the late Lelia Viar Lipscomb. Frances was a devout Christian, who loved the Lord and was a lifelong member of Fairview Christian Church. She was a retired certified nursing assistant for Westminster Canterbury. Frances was a devoted military wife for over 20 years as well as a devoted mother and grandmother who was loved by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister, Paul Lipscomb, Johnnie Lipscomb, Lewis Lipscomb, Richard Lipscomb and Hilda L. Callahan. In addition to her husband, Frances is survived by two children, Ronnie W. Cheatham and his wife Sharon of Forest and Carol C. Lindsay and her husband David of Concord; four siblings, Robert T. Lipscomb and his wife Betty of Lynchburg, Doris L. Booker of Summerville, SC, Loretta L. Buraker of Madison Heights and Charlotte L. Harvey and her husband James of Riner four grandchildren, Amy C. Hall and her husband Cliff, Beth Wade and her husband David, Rebecca L. Goin and her husband Robert and William David Lindsay, Jr. and his fiancée Ashley Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., , 19, 2015 at Fairview Christian Church with Pastor Curtis Wheeler and the Rev. D. Jack Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., , 18, 2015, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and on and (following the service) at the residence. Obituary: Edith Estelle (Grandma) Wood Cheatham, 95 of Naola died 2, 2014. She was born 13, 1919 at Snowden in Amherst . She was the daughter of Harry Wood and Julia Bowles Wood. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Eldridge Lee Cheatham, and one son Dennis Wayne Cheatham. She is survived by one son Raymond Ray Cheatham and his wife Dorris Jean Floyd Cheatham, six grandsons: James, Paul (Tammy), Mark (Angela), David (Danelle), Michael (Michele), and Wayne Robertson, fourteen Great-Grandchildren: Kristina, Taylor, Amethyst Smith, Noah, Ashley, Dimitri, Mikala, Travar, Candace, Josh, Michael, Dakota, Alexis, and Bailey Robertson, one Great-Great Grandchild: Skyy Reynolds. She had a number of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sisters: Virginia Hartbarger, Mary Mitchell, and Ida Dawson, and her brothers: Harry Jr., William, Leslie, and James (Pete). Estelle accepted Christ as her Lord & Savior in 1937 and joined Corner Stone Baptist Church in Naola. She was very active in her church, and she was always there unless she was sick or there was a death. The funeral service will be conducted at Corner Stone Baptist Church by Pastor Peyton Fitzgerald and grandson Mark Cheatham at 2:00 p.m. , 5, 2014. Burial will follow in the Cheatham Family in Naola. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00 p.m. today, , 4, 2014 at Whitten Monelison Chapel. A special thanks to Dee Harmis, Cathy Blondino, Susie Reynolds, and Lisa Pugh for their kindness and compassionate care for Grandma. Obituary: David Lee Cheatham Sr., 83, of Varina, passed away on 15, 2015. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Willis United Methodist Church where he served on many committees. David served honorably as a Corporal in the Army, fighting in the Korean War. He enjoyed camping, fellowship, traveling, baking and spending time with his family. David had a zest for life and a smile for everyone. He never met a stranger and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. David was preceded in death by his wife, Georgie Cheatham; sons, Ronnie and David Cheatham Jr.; and grandson, Ryan Vaughan. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Cheatham; daughters, Judy Vaughan (Andy), Sherry Cheatham; stepchildren, Gay Nell King, Kimberly Smith and Richard Butler Jr.; grandchildren, Chase, Chandler and Chaney Cheatham, Kristen Guynes and Tyler Vaughan; daughters-in-law, Tina Cheatham and Cyndi Wyatt Blake; and many loving family and friends.
