Obituary: William Johnson Cutchen 1928-2010 William Johnson Cutchen husband, father, grandfather, and great grand-father passed away peacefully on May 7, 2010. William grew up in Arizona then joined the Air force and flew all over the world. He will be remembered for having a great love of the outdoors and loved to be able to go fishing whenever he had the chance. He was blessed with the ability to fix and work with electronic equipment. He worked hard his whole life to provide for his family. He will always be remembered for the special gift of talking and being an instant friend to whomever he met. He liked to be funny and crack smiles and was always fun to be around. He met his wife Margot in Europe, they were married 19, 1954. He is survived by his wife of 56 years; 3 children, Dale (Erin), Cheryl Curtis (Robert), Alan (Julie); 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Services will be held May 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the West Valley 4th Ward located at 3150 West Whitehall Drive, West Valley City. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to services. Obituary: Eva Margot Cutchen 1929 - 2016 Beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on 22, 2016 surrounded by her family. Margot was born 28, 1929 in Breslau, Silesia. She had a great love for life and for her family. She was extremely proud of her European heritage. While growing up she lived through the atrocity of World War II. This arduous time shaped the rest of her life. Shortly after World War II she met the love of her life, William J. Cutchen. immigrating to the United States they were married 19, 1954. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Margot had a great fondness of music, her favorite callings in church revolved around this love. She relished her time as a chorister in primary and sacrament meeting. She enjoyed some of the finer things in life. She took great pride in her immaculate yard and how she presented herself to others. Margot will be remembered for the great love and devotion she had for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. There is nothing that she wouldn do for them. She loved them unconditionally and found great joy spending time with them. She was thrilled to have the opportunity to see her grandchildren be baptized. She is survived by three children, Dale (Erin), Cheryl (Robert) Curtis, Alan (Julie); three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Obituary: Merle James Jim Custer Our dear husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and best friend, Merle James (Jim) Custer, 79 of Sterling, Utah, passed away , 7, 2007, after an extended illness. James was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on May 26, 1928, to Merle Palmer & Vernessa Jane Dobbins Custer. He attended schools in Salt Lake and graduated from BYU in 1954. He worked as an electrical/manufacturing engineer and taught classes in chemistry and geology. He loved the scriptures and his daily life exemplified his great love for the Lord Jesus Christ. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life and was ordained as a High Priest. Jim was probably best remembered by ward members as an extraordinary teacher. He published several books based on his life long study of the gospel, authored several novels as well as a book of poetry. He is preceded in death by two wives Heidi Schlimm and Earlene Prestwich. He later married Jeanene Larson who helped bind all of their 10 children and families. Jim and Jeanene settled in Sterling, Utah, four years ago after serving an LDS mission in Samoa. Jim will be greatly missed by his family and friends, who have known him to be a man of incredible faith, unwavering strength, and had a great love for all of Gods children. Jim was a kind and gentle spirit with a forgiving nature and natural sense of humor. He enjoyed traveling, writing, hiking and swimming in the ocean. He was a man who was comfortable alone, but loved more than anything else, time spent with his family. While we are certain there is great joy for his reunion with his parents, grandparents, two sisters, Ina and Idell and his dear grandson, Shaun Custer, who have preceded him in death, words cannot express the depth to which he is missed by those he left here: wife, Jeanene Custer, son Val (Connie) Custer, daughter Susan (Russ) Hooley, daughter Lawana (Gary) Damron, son Randy (Christine) Bird, daughter Linda (Royal) Chamberlain, daughter Jamie (James) Robertson, daughter Julie (Michael) Hart, daughter Lisa (Craig) Featherstone, son Christopher Crouse and daughter Sara Hall. Jim is also survived by 22 grandsons, 23 granddaughters and 46 great-grandchildren. services will be held at 1:00 p.m. , 10, 2007, in the LDS 4th Ward Chapel, 445 South 700 East, Orem. Family and friends may call from 11:45-12:45 p.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will be held in the Utah Veterans Memorial Park, Salt Lake with full military rites. |
