Obituary: Wilma Ruth Peery Christensen, 89, passed away peacefully at home 2, 2011, from causes incident to age. One of six children born to William Edward Peery and Margaret Green Peery, Wilma entered this life on 9, 1922, in Dalhart, Texas. Although Wilma lived in Utah for the majority of her adult life, her Texas roots ran deep and she always considered herself a Texan. Having weathered the “Dust Bowl†and the Great Depression in her early years, she was an amazing example of compassion, hard work and resourcefulness. In 1943 she came to Salt Lake City to live with relatives and to find work during WWII. While working at a factory where parts for the war effort were made, she met and was courted by her eternal sweetheart, Louis Christensen. Wilma and Lou were married in Salt Lake City on 6, 1944 and later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Following their marriage, they lived in Brigham City, Utah for a short time and then moved to Provo, Utah which became home and is where they raised their children. Wilma and Lou enjoyed 51 years together before Lous passing in 1995. Wilmas life work centered around her family. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Most of all she loved her sweetheart, Lou, and looked forward to the day when she could be reunited with him. Wilma was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having converted in the early years of her marriage. She served in many church callings throughout her life and blessed the lives of countless others. Her faith in Jesus Christ and her love of others was an integral part of her life here. She was a friend to all and all who knew her considered her a friend. She is survived by her sister Kathryn Goss of Amarillo, Texas and her children Elaine (Garn) Schumann, William, Kathy (Curtis) Adams, David “Bish†(Marianne), Paul (Doralice) and James (Staci) and by 28 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Margaret Mitchell and Dorothy Peery, brothers Weldon Peery and Nathan Peery, her husband Lou and son Gary. services will be held , 8, 2011, beginning at 11:00 am at the Orem Canyon View Stake , 575 East 800 North, Orem, Utah. Viewings will be held , 7, 2011, from 6-8 pm at the Walker Sanderson , 646 East 800 North, Orem, Utah and morning from 9:30-10:45 am prior to the services at the church. Interment will be at the East Lawn Memorial Hills . |

Obituary: Wilford Brent Christensen passed away at the age of 66 on 19, 2015. He was born to Wilford Elmer and Betty Christensen on 8, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Murray High School. Wilford married Charolet Wardle 26, 1968 in Murray, Utah. He was married and sealed in the Salt Lake LDS temple in 1981 to Charolet Christensen. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Lattter-day Saints. As a young 17 year old man, he served two tours in Vietnam with the U.S. Navy which instilled a lifetime of patriotism for his beloved country. He passed this love for America onto his children. He also worked for the Postal Service for 17 years. He was a proud family man who loved his wife and children. He was very big hearted. He loved the church and had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and love of God. He served as a temple worker in the Jordan River LDS temple. He enjoyed retirement, spending time raising his granddaughter Belle and traveling the country with his wife. He is survived by his children Shelli (Paul) Bergman, Kerry Christensen, Nickolas (Katie) Christensen, Andreia (Adrian) Rockwell, his mother Betty Christensen, siblings Karalee (Bob) Harwood, Mark (Karen), Perry (Kim), Ron, and Wendy (Wade) Bowles and 7 grandchildren, Brittni, Brianna and Zachary Bergman, Jacob, Lilith and Jack Christensen and Abigail Rockwell. He is preceded in death by his father Wilford E. Christensen and brothers Stephan Paul and Lynn Alan. services will be held on 24, 2015 at 11:00a.m. at Westland 4th Ward (7171 S 2700 W) in West Jordan. Friends and family may call 23 from 6-8pm at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be held at Wasatch Lawn (3401 S Highland Drive) following services.
