Obituary: Fae Clark Cartwright overcoming years of numerous medical issues and weeks of intense pain, our dear sweet Mother, Wife, Grandmother and Great Grandmother passed away peacefully into the arms of her loving parents, oldest son and many relatives and friends that had passed before her. Mother was very specific with her wishes. She wrote her own life history years ago, which she would like to share. I was born 13, 1918, a daughter of David Spencer and Ruby Halladay Clark, in Provo, Utah. I went to public schools; Timpanogos, Dixon and the old Provo High School on 3rd West & Street. I graduated from B.Y.U. with a Bachelors in education emphasizing speech and physical education. While at B.Y.U. I was very active in the Drama Department, Mask Club, Theta Alpha Phi, President of the National Drama Society and received the Golden Hand Drama award for the outstanding service in drama. My first year, I taught at South Sevier High School, in Monroe , Utah and later transferred to Jordan District, where I taught two years. During my second year of teaching, I met Vic Cartwright in the boarding house where we both lived. Vic was a Utah native, who had returned from St. Louis to enlist with the Men from Utah, as he thought the war was coming. We got engaged and planned to be married in the spring, but Pearl Harbor ( 7th, 1941) came along and change our plans. We were married , 27, 1941, in Provo, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple, by Elder Crowley, after the war. Vic entered the army in of 1942, and I returned to Provo, where I worked in the accounting department of Geneva Steel. serving 5 years in the army, Vic was honorably discharged. We then returned to St. Louis, where Vic finished his last year of school. his graduation, we returned to Provo to make our permanent home, in 1947. I was an active member of the L.D.S. Church. I served in numerous callings; School, Primary, Den Mother for Cub Scouts, Relief Society and Mutual. We were charter members of Riverside Country, where I belonged to the R.C.C. Ladies Golf Association and served as the President of Riverside Ladies. We have always traveled as a family. Some of our favorite places included Fish Lake, Lake Powel and Flaming Gorge in Utah. We also spent time in Hawaii, Alaska, Canada and Mexico. In the spring of 1969, we purchased a second home in Palm Springs, California, where the children and grandchildren could spend fun filled weeks. Later, Dad and I became snowbirds, and spent six months of the year there, where we were members of Desert Island Country Club. Vic & I enjoyed 36 years of sunny winters in the desert, where we spent days golfing and evenings filled with various activities. Vic and I were married longer than we were single, enjoying over 68 wonderful years together. Our marriage was blessed with five beautiful children; David Clark (Shauna Gurr) deceased, Victor I, II (Lynne Freed), Ann (Raymond) Fraedrich, Jon and Janice (Glade) Collard. I enjoyed time with all of my 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. The family would like to express great gratitude to the staff of UVRMC that so tirelessly tried to help our Mother the past few days and thank Hospice, specifically Margaret, for her wonderful caring kindness in Mothers last few hours. It was Mothers request that there be a private, family only viewing. services will begin at 11 am, , 4, 2009, in the Oak Hills First Ward Chapel, 1038 North 1200 East, Provo, Utah. Interment will be at the Provo . Mother, you are so loved and we all miss you so much already. We look forward to being with you again. |

Obituary: Jayden Lynn Cartright, 6, passed away 20, 2008 the result of an auto-pedestrian accident. So full of life, our sweet and beautiful, blue-eyed, blond, little girl will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Jayden, the daughter of Jeff and Natalie Williams, and Joshua Cartright loved life and adventure. She loved to dance and stole the hearts of everyone she met. Jayden always wanted to be older than she was. She always said she had super-hero powers. Jayden claimed she could use these powers to see into the hearts and homes of all she met. She accepted all with the genuine love that only a child can have. She also used this imagination in the games she played with her sister Madison, and brother Ty. Jayden loved her Grandpa Bob and Grandma La La Watters and she also loved sleep-overs at Grandpa Dan and Grandma Karen Williams. She would often end up sleeping between the two of them. She loved primary and recently had a part in the primary program. The audience laughed when she loudly proclaimed she was getting married in the Provo Temple. Although they will miss her dearly, her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, all share her testimony and know they will see her again because families are forever. Jayden we love you. services will be held , 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Palmyra Stake , 515 East 900 North, Spanish Fork, Utah. Friends may call at the church prior to funeral services from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Benjamin . |
